: Ricer-X & Json3904?
RATTFINK 07-22-2010, 07:51 AM Ricer-X & or Json3904,
Would you be able to help me with the 2” body lift from 4x4Parts/AC? I’m not sure when I will be able to get the kit; however I would like to put out feelers for help before I get around to purchasing the 2” BL parts.
I live in an apartment and they do not allow auto maintenance on their property, so I would have to visit one of you guys to do this.
Thanks!
drbandkgb 07-22-2010, 08:02 AM Man if I was closer... Id be all over this... Dont buy the AC kit brah!
Part one together... I spent right about 60$ for my lift.. the only other thing you would need is to make a 2" lift for the bumpers.. 200 is a waste of money...
Good luck to ya Ratt
TimRich 07-22-2010, 08:08 AM Yeah definately try to piece it together. $200 is a waste of $$$.
RATTFINK 07-22-2010, 08:11 AM Thanks for the well wishes broskie's :) Is there a list of the things you used? I’d rather pay $60 then $200 :D
drbandkgb 07-22-2010, 08:13 AM The pucks... Id watch ebay.. Ive seen the as low as 2.50 on up to 3 or more...
You need 10 pucks..

TimRich 07-22-2010, 08:15 AM Damn Dave you beat me to it...lol
Drake 07-22-2010, 08:16 AM Definitely go with the piece together body lift. And use the instructions that are listed here in our How-to section. James (Soccerbrace) went into great detail with the install and they are 100 times better than the ones that come with the kit. Other drawbacks to the kit's instructions is that they are generic and not vehicle specific so it leaves out a few critical things like hard lines that should be unclipped before lifting the body and stuff like that. The other drawback is that the kit instructions will have you doing about 10 more hours of work that is absolutely 100% unnecessary (relocating radiator, extending fuel-hose, etc. etc.).
drbandkgb 07-22-2010, 08:18 AM Damn Dave you beat me to it...lol
hehehehehe fastest fingers in the east :D
RATTFINK 07-22-2010, 08:28 AM LOL, I remember that thread. Thanks for the reminder.
I’ll start piecing it together.
hehehehehe fastest fingers in the east :D
That’s what she... Never mind :D
TimRich 07-22-2010, 08:48 AM Well you'd figure I'd be able to pull it up first since I have like a Gig Ethernet connection at work...lol
Ratt I was thinking the same thing...lol
Ricer-X 07-22-2010, 08:50 AM ive never done a BL on an Xterra, but i did a 3" on my 4runner

RATTFINK 07-22-2010, 09:07 AM Cool!
I have seen your 4Runner build thread and have realized that you are more mechanically inclined then I am LOL :D. I only know how to do basic auto maintenance, PML, car audio etc.
It will be awhile till I get around to doing this; but I feel better knowing I have a CX brother willing to help. :)
vandebogart 07-22-2010, 11:14 AM I got the pucks for my BL kits from zoneoffroad.com. they were ~$3 a piece
json3904 07-24-2010, 01:52 AM i will be down to help as well... just let me know in advance and i will get off.... i will try to have the parts for mine t but im not going to hold my breath... LOL
TimRich 07-24-2010, 08:07 AM You guys should go in together and order all the bolts and pucks together and get them all done in a weekend. I know LostX and I managed to get both of ours done in one day. I'd say you guys could do all three in the same day.
Ricer-X 07-24-2010, 01:15 PM i needz 2" BL too
x-roop 07-24-2010, 02:01 PM its not bad at all but remember to disconnect ur rad hose before you do it. not sure if its not in the diy instructions or i dont read well. i didnt and it broke the intake off. besides that its easy
Houston-X 07-25-2010, 10:15 PM Is there a parts kit set up for a 2nd gen??
If you need an extra set of hands, and depending on the date, I'd be down to help!
cuong nguyen 07-29-2010, 12:04 PM If I'm still living in Houston, I'll offer a hand as well.
Here's a guy selling his body lift for 80 OBO.

RATTFINK 08-16-2010, 11:36 AM Ricer, how's it coming?
I need to order the pucks and bolts. I plan on purchasing this weekend.
RATTFINK 08-16-2010, 11:46 AM I would like to get together with you, Jason (If ready), and anyone else to do the Body Lifts at the end of this month or sometime in September.
RATTFINK 09-03-2010, 04:16 PM Pucks are here :)
daegurth 09-12-2010, 04:27 AM I might be willing to help out if you could use another hand. would just need to know the date so I could get it off from work. I'm trying to get the cash together to get my LBJ's replaced and I'm thinking about putting some 3" shackles on the back.
J Everett 09-12-2010, 10:41 AM Dudes, if y'all do this on a weekend I am off of work, I might be willing to drive out to Houston to lend a hand and meet everybody! Let me know when y'all want to do this!
Ratt, PM me when y'all settle on a date, in case I don't see this thread pop up again.
RATTFINK 09-12-2010, 11:15 AM I believe Ricer is only able to help during the week. We are shooting for next Tue or Wednesday.
J Everett 09-12-2010, 11:22 AM Tuesday/Wednesday the 14th/15th, or the following week?
I might be able to make it Wednesday. I have 7 days off starting the afternoon of Tuesday, the 14th.
RATTFINK 09-12-2010, 11:31 AM 21st or 22nd
J Everett 09-12-2010, 11:35 AM Aw, dammit, I'll be back at work...
RATTFINK 09-12-2010, 08:34 PM J, I misunderstood Ricer in his PM. Yes, the 14th & or the 15th.
J Everett 09-12-2010, 08:39 PM Really? I might wake up early (like 0300) Wednesday and drive out there. Gotta talk to the wife first. But that's only if y'all are doing it on Wednesday. If y'all finish up on Tuesday, there's not much reason for me to go. Let me know when y'all finalize a day and time. I'll PM you my email address. That's the best way to contact me because I check it on my phone if I'm away from the computer.
J Everett 09-12-2010, 08:43 PM Ratt, if you haven't already started doing this, spray all your body mount bolts with PB Blaster or Aerokroil every day leading up to the day you do the work. It'll be way easier.
RATTFINK 09-12-2010, 08:52 PM Thanks for the reminder J. I have some PB in the garage. :)
J Everett 09-12-2010, 08:53 PM No problem. Just trying to save you and Dustin, and possibly myself some busted knuckles. :)

RATTFINK 09-12-2010, 09:30 PM It's alright Jason.
daegurth 09-13-2010, 01:39 AM I won't be able to help on those day's. I only have monday off that week.
RATTFINK 09-13-2010, 09:19 AM Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday!!!
We are meeting at Ricer's house to put the BL on my X :)

RATTFINK 09-14-2010, 03:03 PM Ok, she is prepped and ready :) PB'd and those PITA white caps removed.
While spraying the bolts I noticed I'm slowly leaking oil again, from where... I have no idea.

RATTFINK 09-16-2010, 11:48 AM Practically 32's... Good Year Wranglers on 16" 2004 Xterra rims. Not as much bite to them like the BFG's I've got, but they are bigger and wider.

J Everett 09-16-2010, 09:00 PM Dude, that was hella fun, and totally worth the drive out there! It was awesome getting to meet some fellow CXers. I didn't really get to say goodbye to everybody though, so we definitely have to do it again. Parts are on the way for my 2"suspension lift....
RATTFINK 09-16-2010, 09:13 PM Indeed :)

RATTFINK 09-25-2010, 12:46 PM It rides great. No problems at all :)
