I bought my 2001 X less than 3 years ago from a dealership my father worked for at the time. Until that day, I had always sworn I'd never own one of those trendy-ass, POS, Suburban-Mom-driven SUVs. Then I drove one. And I've since sworn I'd never get rid of my badass, comfortable as hell, puts-up-with-my-shit, toddler-frightener. Mine's only 2wd, so I don't really do any offroading or anything, but I've used it for many a roadtrip and a short stint in the pizza delivery business. In the time I've had it, It's seen 24 states and accumulated 100,000 miles (yes, in under 3 years) and is currently just over 160k with little to no issues until just recently. Given the horrendous costs associated with having other people do the work for me, I've been googling around in search of cheaper solutions and DIY tips for fixing up (and possibly upgrading, pending finances) my ride. I registered on here just as soon as I discovered this place and have already found answers to dozens of questions, many of which are looking to save me several grand. I'm happy to find other enthusiasts to learn more from, and can't wait to see what everyone on here has been doing with their own vehicles.
