Hi all,
This girl I am dating has an '02 Xterra that makes a grinding noise while reversing. I haven't had time to take the rear wheels off and investigate further but I will this weekend and just need some guidance, as I am a Jeep man and have only worked on disc brakes. Hers has drum in the rear and I'm almost certain that the pads are finished and it's the metal part of the brake shoe that is scraping against the drum making the noise. What is the best/easiest way to confirm this? Anyone have an exploded drawing of the rear brake assembly? Or does anyone have another idea as to why it's making that noise? Thank you for any help you can give.
