Does anybody have any recommendations on where to get a cargo net for the removable portion of the roof rack? I've been looking and haven't had much luck.

All I've been able to find is this on eBay motors:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2000-Nissan-Xterra-Roof-Basket-Convenience-Net-OEM-/270584272436?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f00145634

(but it doesn't have the necessary hardware, though I'm not sure if what that entails)

Or would this be ok? I get a lot of muddy clothes and shoes (that also smell) that isn't a lot to move, but I would just like to keep them out of the X as much as possible

Yup, that's the factory Nissan one. It's the one you need. Great price, too! Think I paid about $40 to $50 for my at the dealership.
Good luck!

How about for the newer style air dam? Can you mount longer screws in the screw/net holders that it comes with?

There is a different part number for the newer style air damn.

the net came in today and it looks great! Thanks again for the link @LostX cuz otherwise I would have gone with that one on eBay motors and it would have been useless pretty much without those screws.

Here it is:

i can see by the way you mounted it you followed the instructions. I saw how it cut out about 4 inches out of the back and fixed it. Just flip the two mounting locations on the mesh part of the rack upside down. Then stretch the net around the back. Its far more effective.

thanks for the tip! and you do gain some good space doing that!

yea that back ledge of space that is not included in the net if you tie it down like that. Its easier to fit towels and wetsuits up there when you stretch it around.

How about a net for the interior roof clips in the back cargo area?

>>>>>>>that's perfect thank you. I did also notice a Xterra shelf net offered. The picture shows a cargo mat that has cutouts for the slides. Any idea where to get that mat??

Does anyone have the part number or a link for the T-anchor bolts (without the net);
http://www.courtesyparts.com/images/netbolts.jpg
I can not seem to be able to find it on the courtesy site. I found the LOOP ASSY-TIE DOWN HERE (http://www.courtesyparts.com/82237u-loop-assy-tie-down-xterra-wd22-2000-2004-p-578436.html) but not the “T-anchor bolt”.
I'll call them on Monday if no one here has it, thanks.

When you were on Courtesy, were you under "Body side and rear" and then "trunk room trimming"?

Sorry, I guess I did not make myself clear. I'm looking for the "T-anchors" that come with the cargo net for a 1st gen x referenced in the op.

Wait, the "T" broke while you were turning it? So its not strong? How is going to hold cargo down?
I might be rethinking this.

So Tom are you looking for the Nissan Acc. T-bolts specifically or just a fastener to retain a bungee net on the roof carrier?

No no... they're tough... mine are/were seized pretty damn bad. I was use a large pair of channel locks to try to twist them out, and ended up twisting the plastic where the metal is molded into, and ripped the plastic T part off. It took a good bit of force even with the large channel locks. Had to then drill out the metal stud part and re-tap

How many and which ones you guys need? I ordered a second net kit because I needed one as well, and I wanted the little square plate nuts to mount some quickfists inside the basket and I was being lazy to not make them myself.

You probably won't be able to find them separately since they are under the accessory catalog.

Anyone looking for an alternative to the Nissan hooks should Google search

Bungee knobs
(http://www.compacc.com/p/Cobra-Bungee-Knobs-Suzuki-M50-01-09)
or

Lashing knobs (http://www.clavey.com/product_info.php?products_id=1015)

A bolt through the center and you're in business.

The lashing knobs should work. Thanks for the link!
Thanks for all the responses folks!

Hey, Bklyn, did the lashing knobs work? I got the Convenience net, but the T-bolts that came with it that secure the wind deflector are too short. inda torqued me off, but what are ya gonna do? Anyway, let me know if that worked for you. Thanks
