Hey guys,

Did a quick search and nothing came up. Has anyone installed revteks leveling kit in their 05 xterra. I ordered the daystar's 2" kit, unfortunately the were back ordered and would take weeks, so my parts dealer ordered me up revteks which requires compression of the front coil and insertion of the spacer. As for the rear, instead of shackles I received spacer blocks @ 1.3/4 inches. ANy comments before I undergo this install would be great.

Thanks

Ya....I pick up a set of spring compressors yesterday from NAPA. Told they would do the trick. I pulled the DS strut out and sucessfully squatted the coil to allow the removal of the shock. Then the fun began, I inserted the spacer with the coil still compressed and was short about 3/4 of an inch. I tourqed on the compressor and was able to get another 1/4 inch, but still not enough to see the threads. Needless to say I had applied some serious torque, as the threaded portion of the compressors were serious distorted and I could see the threads starting to shave, that's when the adrenal gland started to work, as I figured she was going to fail and subsequently result in a serious popping sound, as shrapnel shot out, hopefully missing my ankles and head:) . Needless to say. I'm a bit frustrated as I know have to try and find a mechanical shop that has heavy "flippin" duty compressors. Hopefully I find someone who can help. The compressors I had were rated for 1000kg. This is why I wanted the daystar kit. However I know if they told me it was back ordered I would have ordered this kit anyways.

I'll keep you posted guys.

Thanks

From worse to worser! I got the front in and cinched up after begging a local auto repair place to use their spring compressor. Go to start the back and suddenly realized the spring perch was on the belly side, which means that I would be lowering the rear by 2 inches (which I hear is the fad in California) just kidding. So I called revtek for assistance and they said whoever ordered the kit failed to do their research, the kit is only good for a frontier (spring perch on top). Well I have the front end ripped out and waiting for a chance to have the shop compress the springs and put the original components back in. BTW Revtek's support was great, they even listened to me swear and rant for 3 minutes. Everything would be rosey if I was driving a frontier FK!

I have a call into daystar to see if they can send me a kit direct. Doing the job twice sucks, but doing it three times take the fun right out of it!

Cheers

Well back on the road, stock hieght. Needless to say boys I'm intimate with my Xterra's front end:) Just sucks to put all the effort in and drive it out of the garage at the same hieght, mind you it would have sucked worse, if momma had to drive it next week with the lights shining at the moon:)

Cheers!
