If I do, it's probably covered with moldy mud. windsordeluxe 02-25-2008, 08:28 PM This worked on my 01: Tools Required: Phillips Head Screwdriver Sharp Utility Knife Drop light Filter 999M1-VP002 (2000-2003) Optional: Beer Go ahead and buy the replacement cabin filter whether you think you have one or not. If you "think" you do and have not checked it, it is probably pretty nasty. If you dont have a filter yet, now that the glove box has been removed, it's time to add one. There is a vertical rectangle of plastic that needs to be removed from the plenum (some models have already been cut but have some type of cover over the opening.) Take a utility knife with a NEW blade and follow the scored lines on the plenum. The instructions included with the filter have good illustrations to guide you. Once the plastic rectangle has been removed you now have exactly what everyone else paid $250.00 at the dealership for. Now slide in the upper filter then the lower filter and use the enclosed retaining clip. Affix pretty shiney sticker. Enjoy not having little pieces of leaves flying out of the vents. Disclaimer: I am not a mechanic nor do I claim to br one. Any operation you do is at your own risk-especially if you are stupid. Knives are sharp, drop lights are hot and screwdrivers are pointy.
