ive noticed that the the vg33 has pretty old school ignition setup (no coil packs or completely electronic ignition) and theres also and adjustment on the distributor. can i adjust the ignition timing at all or will the computer tell me to go f myself and correct for any advancing?

If it is similar to GM it will prompt a code if you go too far, I think it says "Leave me alone I am set to burn thinned out 87 octane at 4200ft

well i have a weird answer cuz i just did it... got the bolt loose and hooked up my scan tool while i did it. turns out the advance will goto 12 degress for a second or two then go back to 10 degress on its own. but what i find weird is after advancing it the engine load goes from about 29-30 percent to 21-22 percent. i think it would be desireable to have the engine under less load at idle. would this help anything? or am i wasting my time

Warm up the vehicle. Turn it off. Attach timing light. Loosen distributor bolt. Disconnect the lower electrical connector on the TPS. Start motor. Set timing. When you have the timing where you want it reconnect the TPS connector and tighten distributor bolt.
