Ok, for starters I have a 2001 Xterra SE 4x4 fully loaded, yada yada...and it includes the stock 6-CD stereo, which still works.

But the previous owner must have taken that one out and installed his own brand, which he removed prior to selling, and replaced the old one back in. But he forgot to reinstall the stereo's mounting hardware, which means my stereo is just sitting loose in its bay. The only thing really keeping it from jumping out is the plastic outer frame.

So, first question is where can I get replacement mounting hardware?

The second question is at some point I am going to take out that stereo and replace it with a normal-sized stereo and a CB (which I intend to mount inside the dash like the stereo). Is there hardware and/or mounting kits for that? Will I have to replace the current plastic frame with something different?

for the stereo, a lot of times you can get a generic cage the mounts inside to hold it. actually i'd ask the stealership about this. as for the CB, the cage thingy might work too. it's a good idea and i might look into it too.
