Yes, there will be fit issues.

Essentially, the rims are completely different, and there is no practical way to use them, at all.

You should wish him well, but don't buy the combo.

The tires themselves might fit, but you didn't say what size they were, or, what rims YOU have, or want, etc.

his 2009 tire/wheel - goodyear 265/70/16 with 16x8 5 spoke from factory
mine - michelin 265/70/15, 15x8 standard wheel for 2001 from factory

I haven't seen his combo yet but I think that's it.

You have OEM 15" rims though, so you can get cheaper 15" tires at least.

32 x 11.5's will fit your rig stock btw.
