So i looked around and couldnt find anything. I just got an 08 xterra OR, woo!. Anyways, I can't seem to get to locker engaged. When its engaged the light stops blinking correct. So I flipped it on while on loose dirt and nothing, put it in 4hi and 4lo still blinking. Sat in neutral for a bit, shifted into first, into reverse, rolled a little back and forth and still blinking.

You have to be in lo, and roll FORWARD.
It won't engage in 4 hi, and you need to roll forward initially to allow the gears to mesh/engage.
To DISENGAGE, you roll backwards after turning it off.

Very stout...they don't seem to break.
:D
The factory front locker sucks, NO ONE has gotten that to engage so far.

They dont break, but they do spit spiders which tend to destroy other stuff along the way. This is more apparent withh the Titans than with Xterras, but it does happen. Also check for water intrusion in the rear diff, it can sometimes have effects on the e-locker.
I have seen both conditions first hand so it aint just a theory.

the 05s and early 06s only had 2 spider gears in the rear, and they weren't good. My rear diff was replaced under warranty at about 40K miles. The replacement diff (with 4 spider gears) has been perfect for the last 55K miles.
