So the wifey and I took our 1st road trip in the X this past weekend. Wend from Gulfport, MS to Perdido Key, Fl (pensacola). I have to say, it wasn't the most comfortable ride I've been in but went ok. After about an hour in it I was ready to shift and my right cheek was hurting lol. It could be the seats being old or the shocks (prob have never been replaced since it left the factory in 01) or its just that rough of a ride. But overall, I was proud that it made it (2hrs) with no problems lol. Prob will be takin the wifes 03 yukon instead of the X.

LOL

Yeah, 2001 was quite a while ago, and the OEM shocks seem to give up ~ 30-40K miles or so.

:D

Might be time to do the 3" SL kits' Bils.

Perdido Key is beautiful. I'm trying to convince my wife that we should move there.

I bet the Bilsteins will improve your ride dramatically. My buddy had an '01 that we drove from New Orleans to Chicago and back in when it was still relatively new, and I recall it being a fairly comfortable trip. Of course, the only other time I made that trip was in a 92 Hyundai Excel, which was cramped and tiny, but still, the X was a nice, comfortable ride.

My 2nd gen has been from Houma (not far from New Orleans) to San Antonio and back, and from Houma to Corpus Christi and back (that one was round-tripped in a single day) and it's been a pretty comfortable vehicle. But the shocks are still new. I think that makes a huge difference.

Maybe it was from sitting on your wallet the whole time. I know when I make a long drive if I don't take my wallet out of my back pocket my ass will kill me...

Getting laid off helped that problem a lot.
