Considering getting new components and pillar tweeters. Will I need mounting kits for the new speakers? Any tutorials? Lastly, speaker suggestions?

as long as you get 6.5"s for the front and 6x9's in the rear you dont need a mounting kit.... i went with fosgate in the front and memphis in the reae... but they arnt components the are 3way.....

I've heard good things about the Infiniti Kappas. Anyone have any reviews about the Alpine Type-S speakers?

Lastly what's the diff btwn components, 2-way, 3-way, etc? I don't know much about speakers which is why Bestbuy installed my system... who also fucked it up :censor:

ok all...m maybe a lil more pricey than what your used to... look into a good 2 way component set up by OZ audio... i got oz vector series comps in my front, and vector series 3 way coaxials in the rear... powered off a JL 4 chan amp providing 45watts rms per channel sound amazing.. for 350 for all the speakers i cant be any more happy.. best part they all mount right up... of course if ou are looking to use components at all remember to purchase an amplifier for your front speakers at least.. otherwise they will be severely underpowered and surely you will be underwhelmed... no matter what brand you buy

components merely mean seperate, and most of the time more power... means the tweeter should be off of the mid or mid bass driver
a 2 way and 3 way coaxial system means a mid driver and 1 oe 2 tweeters mounted on the speaker.. imo normally dont sound as good for clarity..esp. in the front sound stage.. then of course there are 2 and 3 way component set ups.. a 2 way is a mid driver and a tweeter,, a 3 way is a mid bass driver, a midrange driver, and a tweeter...

everything i listen to i have it up loud ( like my head unit goes to 55 and i listen to it at 45) i have had my speakers for over a year and still sound great.....it just depends on if you put alot of bass through them.... if i turn off my subs all you hear is some mids and highs....

I just got the same speakers. How did you install them? Cut off the speaker wire harness and solder the connections? I'm planning on doing the install this Sunday on the front and back, so any suggestions would be appreciated.
