Where do you usually go surf at? pacific city?

yeah PC or newport, i heard otter rock is pretty good. haven't been there yet. just moved back a little while ago from north carolina. where do you go?

Xtreme4x2
05-27-2010, 08:36 PM
Otter rock is good for beginners, not the greatest conditions. Agate beach is a few minutes south and is suppose to be a lot better than otter rock. I usually go to short sands because I'm up in portland. I've been to otter rock, indian head (cannon beach area) and pacific city. I want to surf agate before I leave oregon. Go to magicseaweed.com for reports and details of spots. The only place I would stay away from is seaside. haha I've heard bad things about the people there. I had a friend from NC I heard the surf is pretty desent there.

haha its not by choice, although I have always wanted to visit Alaska. Should be fun, minus the bears.

Yes, plenty of out door fun to be had. Let me know if that "play dead" thing works with the bears LOL! Make sure to post some pix of your X in action up there and don't forget to learn to to build a fire before you leave. Just in case. haha :D

Xtreme4x2

haha I'm staying away from all bears, I'll go wheeling, surfing and fishing (on boats) as well as a few other outdoor activities, but I'll try my best to stay away from bears. I'll also have a shotgun in my X at all times. I've been talked to about the bears though, so I should be fine....I was really hoping grenades were legal.

AWW the bears are the least of your worries. You have to worry about the Moose. I guided in alaska for salmon and trout for 6 seasons and the bears are nothing really. I am used to seeing 4 to 5 bears a day and never really had any troubles. Just pack a .44 or larger or a shotgun.

I plan on getting a shotgun once I get up there. I saw a pic of a huge ass moose the other day. They look like fricken dinosaurs!

Hey. I live in NW P-Town.

I like to play video games, (Battlefield 2 and Red Dead Redemption at the moment) Shoot shit, and play music.

If anyone in the Portland area has some tools, (impact wrench, jack stands, etc) I'd love the help putting on the shackles/leveling kit I bought. I'll throw in some cash and some food/booze for your troubles.

You live down south right? I've gone fishing at Hagg lake for trout about 5 times and have not caught a thing. I've been using yellow power bait and rooster tails. Any tips?

Ya I live way further south than that. Im in Springfield. Never fished Hen Hag lake though. Should be the same though. Slip weight and I like to ALWAYS use rainbow powerbait if im fishing for lake trout from the bank. In the boat I am trolling with half & Half mini cowbells and a wedding ring. Rooster tails I use the firetiger.

The chinook and steelhead are here about 15 min away from me right now and its going on like crazy.

Sounds like i'll try the rainbow power bait. I would never use my wedding ring! My wife would kill me if I lost it. Have fun catching all those fish! I'm still trying to catch my first oregon fish.

Sounds like fun, need to talk to my wife first. Like I said my X is painfully stock... so hopefully the snow wont be a serious issue.
