Just giving a quick post to introduce myself! I've been an Xterra owner for almost 6 months now, and have lovingly named her the BeastMaster. Most of my friends and boyfriend are into performance cars (my boyfriend races a turbocharged Nissan 350z and a twin turbo 944 Porsche that he will occasionally let me play with as well) and I'm on a few forums related to more of a racing scene, but decided I wanted to get in touch with more Xterra people!
Just over 6 months ago I moved to New York from California and decided I needed a vehicle that I would feel safe driving in the snow (since I had never encountered it before). Went to a delearship to just look around and fell in love with a 2002 X and took it home the next day. I really want to take it off roading, but am nervous about it since I love her to death and have never off roaded before (hopefully I can get some tips from other people here :) ) Since it's all snowy here now I take her out when I can to do a little drifting in parking lots ... people get a kick out of seeing an SUV really tear stuff up...especially when it's driven by a female as well. Anyway, I'm sure you all know what an X looks like by now, so I'll just throw up a pic of a more recent drifting session:

I'm originally from Southern California, about 20 minutes south of LA...but I went to college in Northern Cal at UC Berkeley...so I've pretty much been everywhere, heh.
That is a very sharp looking Z! I really do love them...been thinking about getting my own as a play car. But I really can't afford it at the moment, so instead I use my boyfriends. Here's a picture of his pre-turbo. (I'm actually very jealous, him and his buddies are out ice racing today, while I'm stuck home sick)

So what exactly is ice racing?

It's a sanctioned event where a group of cars race head to head around a pre-set out course on a frozen lake. There is lots of sliding, drifting and spinning, and the potential for damaged cars, but most people are very careful so as to avoid accidents. I've never been to one, but I've seen videos. In fact, Dave (the bf) took pictures and videos...I can post up a few once he gets home and uploads them to the computer :)

Hehe, thanks...I still need to get around to putting up my racing info...just haven't gotten around to it. In fact, there's quite a bit I need to do to touch it up. Ah well, I will at some point! Thanks for the welcome, btw :)

Hey,
I don't know much about the race stuff :( I don't have any mods done to my X she's perfect the way she is. Although I would like to have a good set of winter rubbers for her along with satelite radio and some Xterra seat covers. I'm still trying to figure out my fog lamp dilemma  Have fun postin.
