The Nismo stuff is a little pricey but IMHO it's top shelf.I have a Nismo CAI on my Spec V with a Nismo no-cat header in the garage waiting to bolt up when I get the time.
I've heard the set-up on the car and it sounds just right..to me anyways. Not unbearably loud but most definitely not stock. On the Spec the throttle body opens up around 5k and it gets MUCH louder but still not that cheesy, rattley, ricey, bumblebee racket you usually hear on Civics with a 17 year old kid behind the wheel.
It would have to sound great on the 6 cyl X...It's engineered that way.

I would agree with Aztec about the Nismo equipment. I would recommend finding a dealer that will hook you up with good pricing. 300 and 600 respectively for the intake and exhaust doesn't sound bad, but at the same time do the research and look around a little bit. Courtesy Nissan is pretty competitive on pricing, and I have an in with the local shop down here that can generally meet or beat the prices of Courtesy.

As a side note, Aztec what year is your Spec V? I would love to get another one. I kinda miss that car.

I have a Nismo intake on my 06 that I found brand new on ebay for $225!!! Intall was less than an hour. I had AEM on my Altima, and I have to say the quality of Nismo is FAR, FAR superior. The finish is superb and the hardware is bullet proof. Plus when its finished, it looks factory installed. I noticed a little bit on the low end, nothing spectacular, but noticible. Where it really shines is in the Mid-range. Passing speed is phenominal and I have managed to surprize many an unsuspecting motorist. You should have seen the look on that clowns face in his Hyundai Tucson when I left him in the dust! One more thing, the exhaust note is AWESOME. It is a mod I highly recommend.
