So most of you remember my last lil problem with my 05 Off-Road. Yes they told me it there was no power at the fuel pump but power at the relay or just after the relay?
OK So that being said. I was driving similar to what happened last time. Drove about 2 miles turned it off for 2 minutes driving just fine until I turned it off and then it wouldnt start! This time it is not cranking though! So its not the same issue at all. The starter is not engaging at all! No cranking no lack of fuel this time just nothing.
So I got the fuse panel out on the passenger side cuz I heard a what sounded like a clicking coming from there. So it was the relay clicking every time the key turned to start it. I assumed it was bad but now I am guessing it should click. Cuz I tore out a relay under the hood that said it was for the brake lights to see if it would start. The relay was the same as the one I took out I could figure that one out. So After I did that nothing. But when I started it that time I heard a clicking from under the hood. That ended up being a relay in the relay box not the main fuse box under the hood but the relay box in front of that one. So I swapped the relay with another one that was the same no luck. I think came to the conclusion that they are probably suppose to click? I mean I could feel it when I had my finger on top of it.
So I bet some of you might be laughing cuz I just had a similar issue so i am guessing it is related! Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! :usuck:

Relays should click when activated. It's starting to sound now like your entire IPDM needs to be changed out.

I'm not sure if it is so with the gen 2 X's, but some cars the starter won't engage if there is an issue with fuel pump relay.

Wow, just take it to someone who knows whats up and have them fix it right. Don't let anyone run anymore wires that aren't suppose to be there.

SO! I decided to do what you'll told me to do last time. I swapped the ECM Relay with the Fog light relay but I also swapped the starter relay with the window heater relay. Guess what the BITCH started. Im pretty sure it was one or the other but my other thought is maybe all that tickering with the wire harnesses caused a wire to go back in place or something. I tried running with the started power wire but reading a wireing diagram is a hell of a job and I can read blue prints just fine! Im in metallurgical engineering not electrical engineering! Anyways just thought Id give you an update!,

Why wouldn't you take my advice in the first place? I told you this about 1 month ago, and then you paid someone else $200 to do some complete bullshit wiring. When you do try what I said a long time ago, you act suprised that it works. I do this all day every day dude, and it is kind of annoying to have someone ask for advice, receive the correct answer, and then go for a B.S. fix. Maybe you should either do a little bit more research, or just take the advice of someone who does this (specifically this) for a living. I am not trying to be a dick dude, and I am not the ONLY advice you should take. If I were looking on a "metal owners club" forum though, and one member was a metallurgical engineer, and I was specifically wondering about a very specific property of a very specific metal that you just so happen to work with all day every day, would you be annoyed? Especially if that person started 3 threads, and recieved the answer numerous times within each thread. Sorry dude, I am annoyed.

Ill be honest man, I would have dug more deeper if I wouldn't have gone to work on it and the cops were there so at that point I had to make a decision weather to have it towed to my house or have it worked on. I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to fix it myself and then be stuck having to have it towed again (triple A has one tow per incident tow coverage). There was def. a second factor in this issue also it was friggen cold! The week it first broke down it was in the teens here in Michigan and windy! Stayed that way for a cpl weeks and now it is in the 50's much more comfortable working on a car out doors! After this newest issue, I immediately thought that I should have done that to begin with! I know you know your stuff and I do appreciate your help. I wish I would have done that to begin with. If it wasn't so damn cold I would have been much more apt to have it towed back to my house to work on it as I did this most recent time. I pulled out the relay diagram and started pulling and sure as shit it started and I believe it was the ECM Relay like you said because the fog lights are not working now. So you were for sure right. Sorry I didn't listen to begin with!

It's cool man, I hope I didn't come off as a dick.:) I just like seeing people save money rather than pay to have something half ass done, and I was just frustrated and I hope it works out well for you now :)
