BigDog107 03-21-2010, 03:21 PM CMD that looks great. I think I might have to just get some new rims for the hell of it. lol
The 4.75BS fit good eh?
Is the stance noticeably wider than stock?

BigDog107 03-21-2010, 04:15 PM Thanks dude. I would like to see if 4.75 is good for me.
vandebogart 03-21-2010, 04:20 PM Damn man! Looks good!
Thanks guys..
P0328
P0441
Yay!! :/
Luckly the one is a knock sensor and apparently doesn't need any attention.
The other one is the evap emissions code. I think its just a bad purge solenoid. It shouldn't be that much to replace..
BigDog107 03-21-2010, 04:49 PM You can have it smoke tested.
Also take a look at the hoses in the passenger fender well. Sometimes those lines go bad after the BL.

Yeah after further inspection they all look mildly cracked at the connections. Maybe be worth just replacing them anyway before I get the soleniod..
Ima go look outside and see if I can find those ps hoses..
looks awesome bro!
is your swaybar seriously still on?
:)

Thanks bro!
They look to be about what 1'' or 1 1/4'' farther out than stock? I know my stockers don't stick out past the flaps. I think I will have to get some. The wider stance definitely is worth it. Plus you didn't have to hack too much.
Edit: I just did the math. Math says they stick out 1.75'' farther than stock since they are also a 8'' rim.
I was thinking about going with 4'' BS but I don't think I will. This is far enough past the fenders.
CISO1969 03-22-2010, 07:21 AM Wow. Nice job. When did you get those front lights?
Just think it was just a few days ago I saw this thing in pieces all over his garage :)
Looking good!

Umm... Yes? I'll be taking it off within the week. I'll have to see how it rides. Most likely it'll stay off but I may put it back on when I'm not wheeling.

No need to. What everyone says here is true. I notice no difference in handling, but then again I'm not doing 85 mph (maybe 65 though :D )
CISO
Sliders are done, not as planed but there basic an hopefully won't break.. lol

how are you liking the kumhos man?
they look awesome!
They're great, although I don't know wtf is going on. I hit 14 mpg for the first time since I've owned the truck on my first tank with the 33's
Edit: Dislcaimer - the 14MPG is good. I've always hit 12-13..
Your thread had a strong factor into why I got them.
Thanks man.

No sir. Saved 400 plus dollers including shipping over shrocks..
BigDog107 03-26-2010, 06:19 PM Do you have a list of what you bought?
I was gonna make some fancy ones but for the price I don't know as if I really care about fancy! Tuesday I am gonna go get a quote on the materials.

I was gonna make some fancy ones but for the price I don't know as if I really care about fancy! Tuesday I am gonna go get a quote on the materials.
Thats what I said, then I was like fuck it. LEt me spend a 1/3 of the cost and make them decent but funtional..
2 60''pc's
4 9.5'' pc.
4 4x4'' pc's of 3/16 flat stock and I had some left over diamond plat for capping the ends..
Depending on your welds on your frame your going to have the flat stock trimed to fit on the back..
emmdock 03-26-2010, 09:25 PM Nice looking stance. It's pictures like these that made me sure I wanted the combo of PML, 2" BL, and 33x12.5s! You didn't count wrong and accidentally make a spare set of those sliders, did you? I'll be in WC this weekend and could help you clear out your garage if so...
and...I got a ticket for my tires... I went home and flipped the tires, showed him and I'm good. I still think I should get the flexy flares though.. I don't mind how they look and they won't give me anymore grief..
TimRich 04-20-2010, 02:05 PM The sliders look great!!!
emmdock 04-20-2010, 02:06 PM Got a ticket for what, sticking out too much? What do you mean you flipped the tires? Put narrow ones back on?
Got a ticket for what, sticking out too much? What do you mean you flipped the tires? Put narrow ones back on?
Yup.
TimRich 04-20-2010, 06:39 PM Man I'm glad we don't have to deal with that crap down here...lol
BigDog107 04-20-2010, 06:41 PM Ah fawk....i hope they dont mess with me! I have heard of this BS before. Ours only stick out past the fenders like 1 1/2'' tho....so whats the big deal
Rons04X 04-20-2010, 06:42 PM so whens does the turret get installed?....id like a write up on that please!
Ah fawk....i hope they dont mess with me! I have heard of this BS before. Ours only stick out past the fenders like 1 1/2'' tho....so whats the big deal
If you take a level, you will see its only 3/4'' Trust me, its an illusion..
Okay.. Repairs and maintenance..
I'm pretty sure i've figured everything out
Worn driver CV axle..
Something rattling passenger side..
Cracked manifold or something else that sputters when I hit the gas..
Sounds fun!!! :D
drbandkgb 04-27-2010, 07:48 PM UP GRADE time...

I've met Bam at Kildare's an Irish Pub in West Chester that used to sponsor my rugby club. He's actually kind of soft spoken in person. or at least that day.
yep, but not uncommon at all to see him wandering about town.

BigDog107 04-29-2010, 09:18 AM CMD you have a PM. You never gave me your address for where to ship the rims to bro!
CISO1969 04-29-2010, 09:23 AM CMD you have a PM. You never gave me your address for where to ship the rims to bro! Call the local PD they may have it as they seem to have an interest in his rims too :D
So it turns out I could use and entire manifold back exhaust rebuild.
Manifold is cracked, right cat is broken and why not get a new exhaust while i'm at it.
Turns out the CV is fine and I'm just going to blame the noise which is minimal on my stock tires to the body mounts.
Looks like I want to get DT headers highflow cats and a nismo catback or something custom with Flowmasters..
Xterror04 04-29-2010, 06:22 PM I would do duals outs to get the most flow
I would do duals outs to get the most flow
With what, an X pipe?
Xterror04 04-29-2010, 06:25 PM yeah thats just what I would do plus I think it would sound sweet.... lol

chupathingy? lol
good looking rig CMD sucks that the 5.0 is giving you grief about the tires.
Full set of skids are on. Was just thinking of maybe just making a rear diff skid. Shouldn't be too hard..
Pic up tomorrow, too dark know for a good pic no matter how many lights I have..
Snow Chaser 05-12-2010, 06:22 PM Full set of skids are on. Was just thinking of maybe just making a rear diff skid. Shouldn't be too hard.
I've heard it's not really necessary.
From TJTJ, which means it's true.
I will now direct you to this thread: http://www.clubxterra.org/forums/showthread.php?t=19803
Yeah truly the only think I'm worried about is the drain hole, I think baf has his soo mangled up he needed a 1/4'' drive instead of a 1/2'' to get it off. that and just more deflection in case I hit something going fast... I would make it if I did decide to have one, would spend the money elsewhere if I was buying it..
yup, mine was so jacked up that a 3/8 drive fit better than the 1/2 that it was supposed to use
Snow Chaser 05-12-2010, 07:43 PM Wow.
Yup, memory served well..
At least let me change the fluid first before I destroy it.. lol
Went wheeling yesterday at Rausch, gained and ABS light and a new code..
The code is 0455, its a Evap code that means "Gross Leak" lol I should that fixed soon.
ABS - I ripped off the wire that connects to the drum on my driver side.. Easy fix..
carterbrand51193 05-17-2010, 02:59 PM I like what you did with the two lights in the front. do you know where i could get those at?
I like what you did with the two lights in the front. do you know where i could get those at?
Northern tool..
Got some graduation money, not a lot..my last paycheck was more but it helps..
Thinking about getting some uca's.. Just can't justify spending 400 for them new.. I guess it 385, but still..
That means an aal would be in the near future and then new shocks and probably would need to extend brake lines.. Not sure if I want to indulge in all that now..
Or I could buy or make a tire carrier with that money..
Decisions..decisions..
....or a snorkel...
or nothing and save for college...
Snow Chaser 06-10-2010, 10:48 PM You could try to get this:
https://www.4x4parts.com/nissan/xterra-suspension-lift-p-309.html with an aal...
And then sell the IAB if you already have one/don't need one.
Also congrats on graduating!
I'm graduating next friday.
Although they probably charge extra for the AAL over the shackles... just now thinking that.
ejwoods 06-10-2010, 10:56 PM Dude buy a tire carrier. What the hell have you been doing with your 33 spare? I'm assuming cargo space.. I'm gonna hate having mine back there when I move up to 33s until I can afford to get a tire carrier, or can ask for one for Christmas :D
Congrats on graduation to both of you guys.. I'm graduating Saturday. Technically tomorrow I guess ^_^

IIRC he's got a 30 in. spare.
ejwoods 06-10-2010, 10:57 PM IIRC he's got a 30 in. spare.
If this is true then spend that money on a 33" spare O_O
If this is true then spend that money on a 33" spare O_O
At the moment, I can hop home with my 30.6. Its sits in the cargo place at times, other times is sits under my truck.
Just a matter of time till I find a decent used 32 or 33 mt spare.
Also, no spare is good anyway. I don't even have a jack that can lift my car high enough off the ground for the 33's to come off.. lol
Maybe a hilift will be next..
Okay, UCA and a AAL will be ordered in the morning..
Was about to pull the trigger tonight but I hesitated and thought maybe shocks and maybe some steering upgrades first but I think I'm going to do this..
drbandkgb 06-21-2010, 09:25 PM Shocks are nice!
Well I need shocks soon anyway now that I'm going up. They'll be next.. Then maybe a 33'' spare? haha
ejwoods 06-21-2010, 09:48 PM Should probably get the spare now... lol
Should probably get the spare now... lol
I mean.. I feel bad saying it, but no one's going to leave me hanging and I have some time before ECXC so I should be good..
Selbysolger44 06-22-2010, 03:12 PM I went without a spare for my 32"s for awhile. Then one day I went junkyard diving and scored a nice matchin size tire
drbandkgb 06-22-2010, 05:11 PM I say no spare... :D
Snow Chaser 06-23-2010, 09:23 AM Yeah I've got a matching spare for my 32"s now too.
Got my car inspected yesterday, all I needed was a new horn. Thanks RC mud.. They decided to waive my tinted tailights and they didn't hear my cracked manifold I guess.. lol
TimRich 07-01-2010, 11:52 AM I'm so glad we don't have inspections here...
drbandkgb 07-01-2010, 12:38 PM X2 Tim.... Thats such BS.... All we do is get tested for emissions
Got the new bilsteins installed tonight.. Couldn't find the bar to get my spare down so that was a PITA.. Ended up finding it and getting the spare down..
Fronts will go on tomorrow..

vandebogart 07-13-2010, 07:51 PM I didn't even bother dropping the spare to do mine.. just unbolted em, popped the old ones off and then pushed em onto the mounts
I didn't even bother dropping the spare to do mine.. just unbolted em, popped the old ones off and then pushed em onto the mounts
These are the original shocks and it was hard to pull them off.. Just needed the right angle..
vandebogart 07-13-2010, 08:09 PM Ahh yea i had some shitty off-brand 3" lift shocks on there.. I had to pry them off with a big ass screw driver lol
Snow Chaser 07-14-2010, 09:11 AM I did my Bils last week, but I only have PML and keep my spare on the roof, so it was really pretty easy.
I did my Bils last week, but I only have PML and keep my spare on the roof, so it was really pretty easy.
Why does having more than a PML matter? lol
My truck is pretty good all around but shocks were rusted pretty good.. I can show pictures but I took the driver side off with a rope looped right at the base and pulling good.. lol
Wponcho 07-15-2010, 11:06 PM http://i773.photobucket.com/albums/yy13/xblsean/DSC01849.jpg
I love the clean yet BA look! This is the reason that I wish I had your body style. Awesome X!!! A pic of you towing that boat...very nice!

I don't know if it would really matter, but mine were easy as shit to get off.
I just wiggled them off.
I dunno, maybe yours were just more extended, and there was more friction/force.

Shocks can be compressed, lol. That wasn't the issue.
it was just rust.
Snow Chaser 07-19-2010, 08:53 PM I mean when it was fully connected.
But yeah, I know shocks can be compressed.
put in my HID's, 6k...
Need a new alternator, sounds like hit right now..(quest?)
New to replace the power steering box..
Have a whining up front when in 4wd, so i'm going to change the fluids this week see if it helps.
Takes skids off and check for damage etc from ecxc..
Snow Chaser 07-22-2010, 01:11 PM Yeah man go quest!
Good luck finding out what's going on under there.
Yeah man go quest!
Good luck finding out what's going on under there.
Yeah, I hopefully getting one from Brendon, the pully was bent when he got it so he needed to ship it back or else I would of gotten one like two weeks ago when I was at his crib but w/e.
I'm in no rush for the whining, is very faint, but I hear it. Could be a number of things but for the little bit I use 4wd, there isn't much rush since everything works fine..
Current events.. lol
UCA's ordered
Extended brake lines ordered
AAL ordered
need to get some atf fluid this week
front driver brake has a squeal to it, need to take the caliper off and see whats up..
figure out whats good with my bodylift this have been happening since day one, i can hear like the body popping when someone sits in my car. Like popping in and out a snapple cap, except no the sound at all.. haha
Also, $109.37 for a traffic violation.. Doesn't help the mod funds..
Snow Chaser 07-31-2010, 09:49 PM Damn what did you do?
Damn what did you do?
I ran over a child..HnR
drbandkgb 08-01-2010, 09:10 AM Damn slow children getting in the way
UCA's, AAL and IAB came today
Going to need to replace two broken zerks before I install, no biggie..
Should be installed by the weekend.. just need u bolts...

Wponcho 08-09-2010, 09:52 PM Where'd you get your new lift components from? By the way, I already said, but I freaking love the way your X looks. I leaning more and more with those Kumho's just by the look. They look like they're ready for anything!
AAL is done, pictures later tn. UCA's will go on later this week or early next week.. I do have all tm and saturday off so maybe i'll do that..
TimRich 08-12-2010, 01:33 PM Nice Sean! Looking forward to the pics.

Snow Chaser 08-12-2010, 07:54 PM Nice man.
You should come down to VA and we can do that and my BL!
Haha nah I got it covered. By the way, I meant to ask you, how did you reach the bolt on the steering shaft?
Nice man.

Haha nah I got it covered. By the way, I meant to ask you, how did you reach the bolt on the steering shaft?
Haha very carefully, your going to have to turn the wheel so your tires are like at a 30* angle so the bolt head is straight up or down.. I think if you cut them super hard you can get to the bolt from the fender if you don't have the rubber liner.. But get a few extensions like 1/2''x6'' or even a 12''x1/2'' I had joints but i don't think i used them..
kizzolie 08-13-2010, 12:02 AM put in my HID's, 6k...
Need a new alternator, sounds like hit right now..(quest?)
New to replace the power steering box..
Have a whining up front when in 4wd, so i'm going to change the fluids this week see if it helps.
Takes skids off and check for damage etc from ecxc..
like the hids?
like the hids?
Sure, just wished they had the secondary bulb that most HID's come with that work inplace of the high beam.. Its just a small halogen that turns on when the highbeams are on.. thats all.. otherwse yea
All done my 3'' suspension lift, I hate ball joints. Ended up having to cut them and press them out, took us about 1.5 hours to get to the point where we went for plan d and cut em.. lol the other side took 10 min tops..
Looks good, tonight i'm going to have to grease everything, mainly my ball joints and drop the front down a bit. I'm sitting on my bumpstops but i
m too tired to care right now.. Getting alignment later this week.. Maybe tm morning or later Wednesday..
Pics will come later

TomsRedX 08-15-2010, 09:43 AM NICE!! Great looking X!
zachbiz 08-15-2010, 10:33 AM Nice dude, I've always thought that 33's with just a PML and a BL looked kinda stuffed and oversized, but with the full 3" SL it looks nice an balanced and badass.
I think its time for armor. or more lights. or both. Just my opinion though

As for now.. I have full skids and sliders.. thats the most ill need for anything I'm going to do right now.. Front bumper isn't a big priority right now.. I find it funny that peoples first "armor mod" is either sliders or a front bumper. Skids and sliders are all you need to do most trails..
As for lights... I ripped the ones i had on off. I don't like em and early used them when I had them.. My hids light everything I need up when I need em.. lol
Looks sweet man! What's next for the x?
Umm.. nothing for a bit.. beefier tra's is the only thin that I can think off for the next few months.. Snorkel maybe probably DIY but you never know.. My extended brakelines are coming today and ill have to get them on soon..
Also, ill be running 35s off my buddys Ford Raptor next week. I'll take some pics and see if I like em enough to buy them for my next set..
Snow Chaser 08-15-2010, 12:01 PM I am super super jealous.
Lol.
That looks sick man, have fun with that. Maybe someday mine will look like that.
Snow Chaser 08-15-2010, 12:01 PM Holy sh-t 35"s.
Nice "Stance" !!
Good job Dude !!
Installed extended brake lines today, finally mounted my CB yesterday..
CB was always tucked behind my glove compartment but now it has a home..

Snow Chaser 01-13-2011, 12:05 PM What tires are you running right now? Not just 33x...x..., but the metric version?
They're not listed in metric sizes, they're sold as 33/12.50r15
Wponcho 02-02-2011, 05:54 PM Do you have a good pic of your smoked tail lights?
XterraJunky 02-02-2011, 07:29 PM What tires are you running right now? Not just 33x...x..., but the metric version?
Technically, 33/12.5/15 = 305/70/15 (actually 33/12.4/15 but close enough) -
TJ's interjection -
ACTUALLY NOT
305/70/16 ARE ~ 33x12.5's in TREAD width and diameter...
305/70/15's are ~ 32's, and, are mostly imaginary as an available size.
:D
Do you have a good pic of your smoked tail lights?
Yes sorry for the lack of an update. I'll get a picture for you tomorrow..
Update.....
Replaced my bad starter in April, died on me right before I left back for school.
Replaced brakes yesterday, they were very worn.
Tires are getting beat upfront with my bad alignment due to the lift.. Still need to lower the front a bit but thats impossible right now with the condition of my t-bar adjuster bolts..
Replace my alternator finally today.. The whining, rattling and terrible drone that came from my old one is gone now.. Between, having a bad core, busted bearing and just a ton of mud the alt is finally being put to rest..
Old Alternator...

Snow Chaser 05-17-2011, 12:18 PM Hey Sean, what prep did you do on your taillights?
And you used Niteshades with a uv additive, right?

Wait, what? Isn't the last number the rim size? Stupid metric... and I actually thought I understood it lol
Hey Sean, what prep did you do on your taillights?

I just wiped them really well and sprayed, kept the coats close in succession so they would adhere as one instead of layers..
As far as nightshade, yes.. I didn't use anything extra though.
Wait, what? Isn't the last number the rim size? Stupid metric... and I actually thought I understood it lol
Think is it like this.. You have width, height and rims size..
By height they mean distance from the top of the rim to the tread.. So if you have the same width and height and different tire size, your tire size goes down 1" or how ever smaller/larger your rim was.. As fart as i'm concerned you would need a 305/75/15 to equal a 305/70/16..
Bedlined all my plastics and the rear bumper.. The black paint just wasn't holding up at all with all the barrier cones I hit. :D

CISO1969 06-02-2011, 06:51 AM Looks good! I may consider that as an option for when new bumper arrives. I want to mod my grille for a better fit and sand down the section that touches the bumper so it no longer does so. Just not sold on the silver X with black plastic look per se for mine.

Why would you sand down the plastic? Lee your being anal again, just let it go. :)

It's an aesthetic mod - we like mods, yup yup.
also to allow for any flex or movement not cracking the grille.

I will do it but first measure exactly to the millimeter the pitch and slope of the gap on either side and maybe bevel edge it.
either way I think it will look better

Snow Chaser 07-29-2011, 07:06 PM So you got rid of the bar?
So you got rid of the bar?
Not entirely.. I'm debating putting two up on each end.. The main thing is being able to get it into parking garages.. I think an extra 6/7 inches would hit no doubt. If thats the case i'm going to give Dani (Snickerdoodle) the light bar since I told her we could split the bar if I won it.. The joke was to cut it in half but I think we are actually going to split it, per se.
