Hi People!

I am new to all this and was wondering which mod to do first. Raise my X (Suspension + Body Kit) or get Rock Sliders? I went on Shrocks site and found that they have a 2" body lift edition of the sliders. Now if I get the sliders first will they become useless after I install lift kit?

What are the Pro/Cons?

Thanks in advance.

Well you can mod the sliders to the lift yourself later on (or just leave them like they are and have a gap)... but since the wait period on Shrock is so long, you'd be better off ordering them for the 2" lift and putting on the lift while you wait.

Sliders are an important piece of armor but whether they are immediately necessary depends on the kind of wheeling you do.

I would do the BL first so you can order the correct sliders

You don't NEED a body lift for up to ~ 33" tall tires, 33's fit a stock 2010 X.

That means your question is really about what sized tires you want to EVENTUALLY run.

If you are dreaming about 35's for example, OK, a BL would be a good thing, and, therefore, you'd order sliders for the BL...BUT....you NEED to install the BL to be able to mount them (They will not fit a non-BL truck).

A BL takes ~ 4-6 hours to install, and a few days to get.

Shrock's sliders might take a month or two (Call him to get an ETA). (Unless 4x4parts has a set for you in stock, or a used set surfaces in time, etc....)

I know you're going to MOAB in a April, so, you'd be getting nothing by then unless you went another route, got lucky, etc.

Soooooo

Most 2nd Gen X's stop at 33's, to improve survivability of the front diffs....or they do a Titan swap, etc.

What do YOU want to go for tire-wise?

:D

No real down-side to a SL, if you do a 2" PRG lift with the UCA and shackles in back, you'll be sitting nice.

PS - It was great meeting you the other night!
