Aj's Mom 03-17-2010, 07:04 AM Hi Everyone....shut my 02 Xterra off yday & now it wont start. I have power & its not the battery so we're trying to change the starter. Bolts are out & wires are disconnected, however motor mount is preventing us from removing it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks! erodth 03-17-2010, 08:09 AM You just need to find the right angle to get it out takes a bit to find it....If i recall, slide it up the support bar towards the front, twist and then come back down and out. I got in my X yesterday turned the key, the dash lights came on, but when the key hit ignition, the lights turned off and nothing responded. I got out locked and unlocked the car, came back in and it started up w/o issue. I didn't get any clicking or whining, it just clicked and turned off. This is an issue with the starter right? This sounds exactley like what mine was just doing... and mine was the starter....
