Anybody know what would cause the tranny dipstick to pop out? Happened to my wife's Xterra this morning on her way to work. The fluid level is fine, but her SES light came on. Reckon maybe this happening could have caused it to show it's little ugly yellow self?

that happened to me one time, but i think its cuz i put way too much fluid in the tranny, the dipstick popped out and i dropped aton of atf on the freeway, stopped to check it, the level was fin, i stuck it back in and never had a problem since

I was thinking that maybe it burped and the pressure popped it out, but I've never had that happen to me.

I never had it happen on my '01, and it definitely won't happen on the '06 because the Gen2s have a bolt holding the tranny dipstick in place.
