Hey guys, I bought a fog light kit from courtesyparts.com. The fog lights slipped in no prob, but when I tried to slip the stalk in the steering it did not fit. They said it should fit, but i thought I read some where 05,06 stalk will not fit the 07.The part# they sent is 25540-ea00a. They think this should fit in all 3 year xterra's, but there part wont even slide in a half an inch.

They even list a different fog lamp kit for the 07s.

There was a change in the stalks from 05-06 models to the 07 model and they are not interchangeable. I don't know the part numbers for each, but it sounds like you have an 05-06 stalk.

I have an 07 s model. I called a local nissan dealer and he said the part that they sold me was for a 07 se, but it does not fit my s. The wires for the lamps were taped up under the from bumper so im really confused why a stalk would not fit.
Its because they pre-wired the X for the fogs...as they usually do, but they changed the stalk design...so it doesn't fit.

Well Ive put the fogs on the fron bumper already. What do you think I should do? Try to send back everything, or keep the lights and prey they make a stalk for my s in the near future? Or find some place that installs after market fog lights and hope they can make me an on/off switch? (Im afraid that might void my warrenty)Do you think that there is a different stalk for the 07 se and a different stalk for the 07offroad edition?

You can wire the lights up to a separate switch. This is what I did. I just cut the wires coming out of the lights to use the bulb sockets, then wired everything else independently with new wires, relay and switch. Also doing so gives you more control of the lights as they are tied to any of the other lights.
I can't remember the name of the site at the moment, but there is a switch you can get that is factory looking switch you can get that fits into one of the 'blanks' you have in the center console or the left end of the dash.

I use the same ones you see in the 3rd post (VanX). I got my from http://www.toyotapartscheap.com/ as it's a factory switch for one of their cars. Unfortunately I couldn't find the part number or recall which car it's off of. But looks and works great.
