What's going on ya'll? 2006 Nissan Xterra S (bare bones.)
Started off with a pretty spartan arrangement. No power windows. No power door locks. No cruise control. Plastic wheel covers (which I thought were real chrome rims until I touched them.) Six speed manual. Factory stereo. Here is what I've done so far. Tinted front two windows to match rest of vehicle.
Replaced stereo with a Kenwood multi-interface receiver. Easy. Replaced front door speakers with Alpine G series 6 x 9. Easy. Replaced back door speakers with Alpine G series 5 1/4. Not so easy. Had to fit a mounting bracket for the door. The sound is amazing! I left the factory tweeters in place for two reasons. 1. Hard to tell sound difference on high pitch frequencies. & 2. It is a custom size speaker.
Installed a class III receiver so I can tow my boat. (It does a great job by the way with a six speed. I have to go up a steep hill and back down to get to get to our boat launch.) My boat with trailer weighs about 3500 lbs.
Installed factory step rails. (Piece of cake by the way. All you need is a 12 mm socket and a 10 mm socket.)
Installed the plastic door side moulding. My vehicle color is granite and I think it adds a little bit of balance and proportion to the overall look of the vehicle. Will post pictures soon.
