i recently (like 2k ago) switched to full synthetic. my friend said i should of done a flush first. anyones take on this??

As long as you drained it good, you'll be fine.

How long do you plan on going before changing again?

Even if you didn't drain it well, its all compatable, so it won't hurt anything.

That is true, but if he went with something like Amsoil 25K/1 year stuff and planed on changing it that infrequently, I would be a bit more worried if there was a lot of dino juice still floating around in there.

I run Mobile1 and change it every 5K along with the filter (OEM) and drain plug crush washer.

nope i used mobil synth, and i gave both the filter and the pan a good 1/2 hour to drain.

i also changed to mobil 1 full synth about 1500 miles ago and it is still running smooth and i did notice a change in the temp (droped a few deg)
