Thanks for welcoming me.
I see there is a wealth of knowledge on here, i just haven't found what I'm looking for.
I pm'd Ricer-X but no response yet. And I know this is not the technical forum but here goes,Here are my questions:
I do know how to turn a wrench. I've been messing with cars all my life, but before i start i gotta hear it from someone with more xterra knowledge.
I want to know if it is easy to change out the front and rear shocks myself. The ride is a little rough (100,000 miles) so i want to upgrade. I need comfort after a long days work! I'm not looking to lift it just yet, but just a simple oem affordable swap. Can i do it with some jack stands in my driveway? Or is this a difficult operation?
Also, when driving in the rain, or when it's wet, my front driver-side suspension makes noise when i hit a bump. It sounds like it could be the a-arm or shock hitting the frame or something. Hard to explain. It's only in the wet though, it's weird and annoying. What could this be? Is this a common problem?
What are some easy things to do to improve driveability? I read about the mass air cleaning but is there any other "easy and free" upgrades i can do?
Your knowledge and insights are much appreciated!
Thanks
