Hello from Mexico city. I've been reading this forum for 3 weeks and it's very interesting and fun. Congratulations to everybody for doing such a great site.

I bought a 2002 Xterra about a month ago. Just changed my New beetle turbo S for the Xterra. Many (from a VAG forum maybe) may think I'm crazy for doing that thing but believe me, the day I changed the car I passed over a hole on the pavement (very very common in Mexico City) and I just felt such a joy. Believe me, it was the best that could happen to me after having a car where you can feel when you pass over a dime.

Well, just wanted to introduce myself and if you've ever driven in Mexico City, you know why I call it hell city

Greetings to all.

I was in Mexico City maybe 4 years ago....I do know what you mean.

So - taking it off road out there soon? (Even more fun than pot holes)

Welcome I know how you feel about the beatle... I traded in my Audi S4 for my X and have no regrets at all. Never have to worry about anything breaking and costing as much as a new car to fix. Enjoy your new ride.

Well, I've never gone off roading and also never had a car (or truck) for that but I've heard that there's a lot of nice places in Central Mexico for offroading. Maybe I will do it some day.

Although I'm affraid of trying it. Not for the risk, but for liking it. It sounds like an expensive hobby :) After seeing all those modified jeeps and trucks with big wheels it looks real fun but it makes me think that I should look for a cheaper hobby like running or soccer. :) :)

The only thing I miss is the dealership service. Here the VW service is the best and the Nissan service is a nightmare. I even have my doubts of them knowing the meaning of the word "service".

But other than that, I'm really happy with my new wheels
