It's been awhile since I have posted anything and that's due to the fact I have no cash for any mods lately. However, I recently decided to paint my front grill that was fading away. I bought some plastic spray paint and it did the job. I am waiting for everything to dry before putting it back on, once I am done I will post some pictures and see what you all think.

It's an easy and cheap way to change the look of your Xterra.

I still don't have pictures, I broke some ribs at work and almost didn't get the grill back on. Taking the grill off was easy, but the plastic clips are a pain to get back on.

I think the grill turned out good, but I didn't use a primer and was told by Home Depot you did not need any with the pain I used. I will get all that info and a few pic's up tomorrow. The problem is the paint will chip fairly easy. So I am not sure if this method was worth the effort, only time and rocks hitting the grill will tell.

If anyone has done this another way then with spray paint for plastic let me know. If I had a shop do it, I would just spend the money for a new one due to the price.

you could always use a fine grit sand paper to scuff the whole surface, then the paint would stick better

The best way to replace the grill with the clips is to place them in the grill first, then just pop it on. It's actually very easy that way.

The clips have a square head on there wit a flathead slot for it. From the back, put the square end in, and twist it at a 45.

i HATE those damn clips!! Half of them are boken on my X to, I need to buy some new ones but I have the urge to upgrade to a Gen1.5 grill and bumper, the bumper will fit NO problem, but the grill will take a little fiberglass work...
