Ok folks, I need the combined might of CX membership to help me solve an offroaders dream dilemma. I have come across two International trucks, one is a 1965 Travelall, 1100 Series (1/2 ton) 4x4, 345 ci engine, or a 1963 Scout 80, also 4wd but with a 4 cyl. Both need minimal work to be 100% but they also serve two comlpletely different functions. The price makes it impossible to pass up, especially since the "accountant" is receptive. Thoughts gentlemen/ladies?

What's your plan though? like you said they are both for very different purposes. Both are great rigs, I work with internationals quite a bit.

Hence the dilemma, if I knew what I wanted the decision would be easier, they just kind of popped up on me, I didnt go looking for them. I like the looks of Internationals version of the suburban, plus the 345 is a great motor. I also like the ability to go almost anywhere with the short wheelbase Scout. I am keeping the Xterra so these trucks aren't do or die type decisions. Creepy, have you heard of any tranny problems on the Travelalls? Apparently they fail at a higher rate than the average.

well, know that your xterra if its an auto is capable of towing that scout on a trailer(unless its way heavier than my 4runner) and it could be a dedicated trail rig
wouldnt that be nice
