i read on another forum about using a vacuum hose to feed small amounts of seafoam into the engine. i think i'm gonna try it here shortly, i hear that it works really well. soooo here we go, gonna run a couple of ounces, then put the rest into the gas tank.

Don't be alarmed by the cloud of smoke that will envelop your entire neighborhood, that's normal. And the gunkier your engine is, the more smoke you'll have.

well i had pretty good success! i noticed a definite difference in the idle and in takeoff. acceleration was really smooth. not that it idled rough, or anything like that, but just wanted to try it. the clouds of smoke? none really. i suppose my engine was already pretty clean!

here is the forum thread at Xterra firma: http://xterrafirma.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=4149&sid=6d96f2506adc1305c383299fdd14e15c

page three has a pic of which hose to use. hope this helps. if the link doesn't work, try xterra firma forums, engine and performance, and the look for seafoam. i hope i've finally contributed instead of just taking info on here!

keep on rockin' in the free world

Anthony, if it makes you feel any better, i never use those forums. hence the reason i couldn't even remember which one i read it on!

haha, i don't actually care, I'm on about 10 different forums!

its just a technicality... the rules say no posting links to other forums. ( I think I've broken that rule a time or two also, so i was just ribbin ya)

I did this on my GMC and felt no difference. Some people swear by it.

i am one of the ones that swear on it... it helped out alot, i guess it just depends on how you use it (how you inject it in the motor or just put it in the tank....)

did it both ways, thru the tank and thru the TB. I felt no change. But like I said, some people swear by it.

yeah i know what you are saying.... i guess some need cleaning more than others that might be the reason you didnt feel anything, cause it really wasnt bad enough???? i dont know.... but since i used it i have been asking everyone i know and there is alot of people that use it.... with no complainst so i am going to keep using it at every oil change.....

good point.

I did it to my 92 GMC 4x4 auto 157k on the clock. That truck ran great, i got 12.87 mpg around town and 16 mpg hwy. I average 14-16 on my xterra.
