I have an '04 with 4wd and lately i've been hearing a slight rubbing sound coming from the passenger-side front. It wasn't always happening but sometimes I'd hear it. (one of those sounds where you ask the wife if she hears it then it stops so she thinks you're crazy :) This morning when I was getting a coffee at 7-11, As I backed out of the parking spot, the front passenger wheel hopped like the 4wd was engaged. I haven't used it for about a week (snow in Michigan). I then went to a snowy/icy parking lot and engaged/disengaged my 4wd and drove backwards 3 to 10 ft a couple of times, but I still think it's stuck. Any thoughts, ideas? Please help, I don't want to wreck my 4wd!!! Thanks!!

Jack up the truck and see if it's locked or free, that'd be my first suggestion.

jack up the truck where both wheels are off the ground then turn one side, if the other side turns then they are locked in.... if not then they are free........
