: Cheap Northern tools lights
drbandkgb 12-28-2009, 01:10 PM I bought a couple of these today... http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_352679_352679
they were only 11.99 for two lights.. Looks like they will be a great back up light.. Doesnt come with any wiring but.. that shouldnt cost too much.
When I first seen them on there web site I thought it was for one light. Got to the store and it was two.. VERY cool plus they say they are 55 watts..
Xterror04 12-28-2009, 01:17 PM good find.... looks like im going to northern lol
drbandkgb 12-28-2009, 01:18 PM I read the reviews on there web site... for $12.00 cant go wrong
agfcnissan 12-28-2009, 08:34 PM I have bought these already. I am building a lightbar and puting these on top of the X for offroad lights. I had to have small diameter ones to fit under Yakima rack when a canoe is on top. will post pics later. I really like the looks of these lights..
mac11 12-28-2009, 11:31 PM even with the $6 they want for shipping these are probably worth it.
If for nothing else they would be cheap starters for an HID project.

drbandkgb 12-29-2009, 03:18 PM Those are kinda small.
I know... I dont like the look of the Big 6" lights up front.
I think they are a little over powering to the looks of the 2000-2001 X I like the bigger lights on the 2002-2004's Plus Im working on a roof rack for my Hella's

Wiring is easy... Two pos One Neg.. It comes from the battery to the switch to the lights.. Its not as hard as it looks.. Just do it right.. No fast connections with Electrical tape... Give your self alot of time so you can take your time.. http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff217/drbandkgb/2010Xterra032.jpg
Switch!

http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff217/drbandkgb/2010Xterra035.jpg
I forgot to take a few pix of how I drilled a hole in the Roof rack.. went down the center.. drilled right under the black cap where the rack meets the roof.. ran the wires down the front window post.. under the dash down the Center console to the switch
agfcnissan 01-24-2010, 09:57 PM I got my northern tool lights done. One thing to remember I was wiring them up both wires coming out the light are white. the only difference is one is a bullet terminal and one is a flat spade. the bullet is postive and spade is ground.. i had to FIGURE it out..
Let me know what you think..
I have 4 switch
1 - back rear lights
2 - vacant
3 - top outside lights
4 - top inside lights..
drbandkgb 01-24-2010, 10:03 PM Why did you run a switch to each light?and how did you run your wires from the top down?
I thought about putting switches there.. I like those
agfcnissan 01-24-2010, 10:05 PM night shots..
agfcnissan 01-24-2010, 10:09 PM I decide to embrace the wires instead of hiding them.. The two ground wires for each pair - run down the passenger side. They ground in the engine bay..
the two wire for each pair of lights (positive) run into the engine bay to the relays.....
i did not want to drill
agfcnissan 01-24-2010, 10:10 PM i wanted to beable to turn on the outside two then turn on the inside.. I guess so i can have more switches up top....
drbandkgb 01-24-2010, 10:11 PM Its hard to drill in to your X
drbandkgb 01-24-2010, 10:13 PM I was thinking about adding two in the back... How do you like them for rear lights
agfcnissan 01-24-2010, 10:16 PM i like having the wire protectors on both side - I already had it in the back for rear lights.....
agfcnissan 01-24-2010, 10:26 PM i got these from walmart 18 bucks. they did not come with a relay but i put one on instead.//
