I have a 2002 green xterra auto (puke) couldnt find a stick at the time. All stock except i put bilstein shocks on. Love the truck it is my 2nd nissan. I have been lurking on the site for awhile and ran into a problem today and wasnt sure what it is so i figure i would join to see if i can find out a little bit more. Is there a place online that has a free service manual. I recently had my truck inspected never had a problem with my 4 wheel drive and only drive about 7,xxx miles a year. I put the truck in 4 wheel and i am getting a noise out of the left wheel that gets worse the faster i go and only in 4x4. is it a hub or a bad universal? I have posted this in tech also. I have only light wheeled with it just to get some where never stuck. any help would help Thanks

Welcome. Philly here. Sounds like a hub that's sticking. Is it like a grinding noise that gets louder the faster you go?

yes it is it just happened out of the blue. Do you think i can take these apart and clean them or just replace with manaul.

Yea take them apart and clean em and re grease them and put them back in. Get an extra set just in case.
