: Snow Bashing...
Toyofast 12-07-2009, 06:46 PM Some of us took a break from blasting the real rigs through the snow to drive the little ones!

vandebogart 12-07-2009, 06:56 PM As usual, great vid man!
Creepy Cruiser 12-07-2009, 07:07 PM So killer!
json3904 12-07-2009, 07:26 PM great vid you got there...
emmdock 12-07-2009, 07:44 PM That's hilarious... Kinda looks like a video game at some points. How'd the water and upside down things work out?
ryguy 12-07-2009, 07:44 PM YES! Best thing i've seen all week. What chassis are those on?
RockMozart13 12-07-2009, 07:59 PM completely had me for a solid minute

Water = no problems. All the ORCRC members make sure their scale rigs are waterproof. Oregon means water!
YES! Best thing i've seen all week. What chassis are those on?
The Beater 'Yota(mine) runs a MFM chassis as does the D90 rig. The Pajero is pretty much a SCX. The Toyota and D90 haven't changed much since 2006.
I'm working on the very short real wheeling video... Not much video was taken of the snow wheeling to get to the random spots used in the RC video. My Xterra was the trail leader, aka the one blazing the trail. Although it looked the most stock, but it is. My buddy in his rather unique chopped Rover and other friend in his Amigo were along also. Each one of us had to be pulled out at one point.
dkswim 12-07-2009, 09:31 PM that was great.
I love the little Christmas tree's on the cars! Another great vid.
NJX01 12-07-2009, 10:08 PM so, im watching this video with the sound off... and im thinking, wow, that snow is really deep... OMG that guy just smashed into...! now he drove up on him!
then i realized. they are tiny.
fail.
i need to get some sleep obviously.
nice video though.
Xterra Mike 12-08-2009, 05:00 AM awesome vid.
Broden21 12-08-2009, 07:22 AM Omg that's great you had me till you all started running into each other. Where do you get one of them. Could be something fun to have laying around
TimRich 12-08-2009, 07:36 AM That was awesome! I was inspired by the last video you posted and broke out my Stampede the other day and started driving it again... Man I missed how much fun that was.
bluex 12-08-2009, 05:41 PM awesome!!!! Where do you get those 4x4 RC trucks from? My wife wants one now.
If they had an Xterra version I"m sure we'd be all over 'em.
I found one that I really liked, of course it turned out to be over $600, traxxis, maxxis or something. Little lockers, 2 speed gear box and all lol
silverbullet 12-08-2009, 06:47 PM I bet thats the traxxis Summit Thats a badass rig. buts 1/10 scale
Toyofast 12-08-2009, 06:55 PM I bet thats the traxxis Summit Thats a badass rig. buts 1/10 scale
Actually the Summit is closer to 1/6. It's huge and has neat functions like selectable lockers but sucks for everything other than bashing.
The scale rigs are where it's at. Those interested I'd recommend visiting RCCrawler.com then looking around at the forum. It's the only source for crawlers. Figure that to get into the hobby, have at least $400 ready to spend.
ryguy 12-08-2009, 07:11 PM I'm thinking about an e maxx for the kids and myself. What do you think Toyo?
silverbullet 12-08-2009, 07:13 PM Shit. I had a Revo when they first cam out and that thing was huge and alot of fun. sold it this past summer cause i didnt mess with it anymore. maybe i'll pick up one of these in the near future to play with at RC on the comp course.
Toyofast 12-08-2009, 08:35 PM I'm thinking about an e maxx for the kids and myself. What do you think Toyo?
I've had a couple E-Maxx's... all were sold. I'm not big into just driving a rig around in circles. I guess I spent too long out at the tracks racing in the '80s-'90s to get burnt out on rigs that can't relate to the real thing.
I'm a huge fan of scale trucks. More fun to drive especially if they are built close to the real thing, you can imagine yourself in it, kind of.
Anything Traxxas, Tamiya or HPI based is good starters for getting into the hobby. I'd set a budget at first.
ryguy 12-08-2009, 09:29 PM I totally dig those scale rigs. I would be less concerned if the kids rolled an emaxx with a $20 body on it though. Those new emaxxes seem to be pretty tough and there is some cool aftermarket stuff for em. I love that defender 10 in your vid, What is that worth, did you paint that body?

The D90 in the video isn't mine but my friends. Funny you ask the price since before a short craze swept through, he picked it up for about $10 through an online police auction. The next day they were being imported from overseas and selling for about $100 each. I believe the body came white but he's added a few extra black colored touches to make it look more real. He's using an old school MFM chassis, 'Pede transmission and TLT axles. Straight up 2006 based rig. It's based off his dad's real D90..... Just recently of his dads D90..

He has a pretty sweet Range Rover too...

ryguy 12-08-2009, 10:02 PM I'm more into these right now than my damn X. I think its because you can work on them on your kitchen table and it's -3 degrees right now. lol. My buddy just gave me an RC10 with a shit ton of parts. It's old but I got it runnin. It needs about 100-150 to make it race worthy again. At least it's something to make mistakes on before I drop $400+ on an emaxx or something.
I can't believe they got 18ft. up in B.C. in NOVEMBER!! Must be because of the olympics. lol. You guys in Oregon have waay more snow then we do in the rockies right now. There might be that much on the trails up at 12000ft here but it's hard to say. Enjoy the powder! Is it cool if I PM you in the future with any RC questions? I'll be into them full force after x-mas. TimRich 12-09-2009, 07:40 AM I would practice up on the RC 10 and then move up to the E-Maxx. Then the kids can inherit the RC 10 and you can roll the new Maxx... Just a thought. I had my pede out lastnight and my fiance was like you are such a kid...lol Now she wants me to build one up for her daughter so I have an old Traxxas Sledgehammer that I'm gonna fix up for her. I also have an old Losi JRX2 sitting around but I figured the sledgehammer will take more abuse than the Losi buggy. Now I gotta find some electronics for it...
silverbullet 12-09-2009, 07:45 AM Once I get some other stuff purchased. Tools, a new chain saw, and my leafsprings and stuff for my lift. I may pick up an Axial SCX10 w/ the trail honcho body.
