I summited the huge rock pile otherwise known as Mt. Sherman back in August. It's said to be one of the easiest 14ers but it's still a 14,000' mountain, so it wasn't just a stroll through the park. I ascended via the Iowa Gulch trailhead. The total hike took about 4.5 hrs with a total distance of about 6 miles.

Looking back at the trailhead parking lot from the summit. Notice the small black dot in the gray area, that's a car.

A small snowfield near the summit. It was August but at that altitude the temp was in the 40's and the wind had to be gusting to at least 30 MPH.

The ridge trail is narrow in spots.

Pic of my shadow shows the steep angle off the ridge.

Awesome! Congrats and thanks for sharing.
After driving to the top of Mt Evans and then climbing to the top of it I can really appreciate your achievement. Doing anything at 14k ft really tests your capacity to move some thin air and I was more than happy to jump in my X for the ride down instead of walking.

You're right. The locals there make you look stupid though. I've been passed on the trails by guys almost twice my age almost in a slow run going up a mountain. But hey, I really can't simulate 14K feet living in Arkansas :)
