there are already post on this forum about that. do some reaserch and you will find it. also look for the solid axel swap. which when you do that you will just need a donnor axel a tranny and tc it should be alot easier than converting your fornt end to 4x4. but just do the search and you will find a couple of posts......

Hello, The easy way is to sell your two-wheel drive and buy one with four wheel drive.

Maybe even one that comes with the LSD, 02-04 models. When you figure the cost to convert? it maybe cheaper too?

For people who can do it themselves and have the knowledge...than making it into four wheel drive becomes part of the fun. Especially with a straight front axle. When you do it yourself...NO labor costs...just purchasing the parts.

The hard way....or the easy way? and if you decide which way? Is this going to use for hard core off roading or light duty? Because you may need to lift and beef up the rear susppensions too.

Read about guys who have done this conversions.....this will give you more idea how much things you will need to do?

.........PS: lets us know what you have decided.....Aloha

Just to give you an idea of how extensive this project is... it has only ever been done once.

You are really much better off selling/trading up to 4x4.

And actually the LSD's in the earlier models are BETTER than the LSD's in the 02-04's

the 00-01's have a higher breakaway torque (tighter clutch pack), so they bite more before starting to slip.

AND just to add one more tidbit... it is possible upgrade the 02-04 clutchpacks to a tighter configuration, by using discs from the older units. (I personally don't have that expertise, but people have done it).

It's still the same rear (h233b), but the clutch plates are just stacked differently
