Is there a way to use the existing fog light wiring with the switch on the turn signal and apply that to aftermarket driving lights? First of all, I WTB either 1 replacement fog light or a set of aftermarket driving lights. My question is: How, if possible, can I get these lights to turn on WITHOUT the headlights being on. I like the switch in the turn signal but am also willing to mount a toggle somewhere, but do I really need to? I also want to let everyone know that my wife told me today that if I mount my hi lift jack to the Yak basket on "her" X she would be extremely pissed. I just mounted the basket today with a nice snowboard rack for HER snowboard.......Women. Wait 'till I put a shovel an axe up there with a few gas cans to boot! LOL.

I know this isn;t what you asked, but I just replaced my stock fog light lenses with those all glass ones that courtesy sells. Holy cow! it lights on the sky, totally worth the 60$ I had some silverstar ultra's in the stock ones and then used those same bulbs in the new lenses. night and day difference, literally.
The only way to get them (or other driving lights) to turn on without having the actual head lights on is to re-wire it with a toggle switch on the dash, at least that is all I have read about.
good luck

Thats what I figured. I was just hoping there was some electrical genie out there to grant that wish : ) I don't want to put too much into these lights because that bumper won't be there forever. THX John.

if your wife intervenes again, it just might actually be ther a while. you'd have to get into an 'accident' that just so happened to rip the bumper off and nothing else. hmmm. i just might know a guy....

Not a problem, just don't hook up the relay to the driving lights. Either don't use a relay at all or just wire constant 12V to the relay trigger.

In regards to JCL. I like the driving lights to be on right at dusk or before, without the head lights being on.

i jsut put in fog lights on my x, and i have a switch for them that runs directly to power instead of to the lights. that way, i can have one on and not the other. they are completely independent. that means i cant use the oem switch by the lights, but i prefer this, and it might be the best course for you. just my 2 cents. if u want the build thread i did on it, i can give u a link.

I did this once on my Integra. I found the power prong on the switch and jumped it with the constant power next to that prong.
You could turn on your fog lights anytime you wanted.
One wire, simple, worked great.
I also did something similar on my 92 GMC. I could have the high & low beams on at the same time. In that scenario I had to add a relay.

Thanks for the info! I have always liked to understand the reason when someone does something different than the norm.
