Hey everyone,

I have a 2006 Nissan Xterra S. I recently noticed a low intermittent "hissing" sound coming from the A/C when I turn the A/C on at a low speed setting. I've been told by some that this is normal and others say it's a clogged filter or a leak in the system.

Anyone experienced this problem before, and if so how can I remedy it?

In vehicles equipped with in-cabin Microfilters for the heather and A/C system it is possible that the Microfilters cover is not attached properly causing an air leak. To check this remove the glove box or other trim finishers to access the Microfilters cover and check fit. If the cover seem loose or improperly installed, reattached properly.
