Help, anyone....I have a 2000 Xterra and recently for no real reason the tack, odometer and oil gauge just go dead while driving. This happens after about 1/2 hr. of driving. Any thoughts as to why? It's not a short because it happens around the same time every day of driving.

Thanks......

Have you noticed loss of engine power when this happens?

Yes, I noticed it only once but 98% of the time I don't even notice until I look at the gauges.

This could be a faulty instrument cluster but first I would suggest checking all the grounds to the chassis.

Why, is it an expensive fix?

what the cluster?????????? it is the guages mph, rpm, temp, and fuel. i dont think that i would be a part that you could live without, so im pretty sure its a nice chunk of change.....

Yeah, I'm going to take a closer look at it this weekend. Your right, its something that may need to be replaced....I have been trying to avoid it.....
