Miami played a smart game in the first half, but once the Saints adapted to the Dolphins wildcat offense, New Orleans owned that game. It was one hell of a game!

WHO DAT?!

Who Dey!!! as it's properly said.. not that we historically have tons of occasions to use it - but damn, Bengals were on fire this weekend..

not to be historically correct or anything, lol

The first reference to "Who Dat?" can be found in the 19th Century. A featured song in E.E. Rice's "Summer Night's" is the song "Who Dat Say Chicken In dis Crowd."

Finally, "Who Dat" became part of a chant for fans cheering on their favorite team. It has been debated exactly where it started, but some claim it began with Southern University fans either in the late 1960's or early 70's and went "Who dat say they gonna beat dem Jags" - Southern University being nicknamed the Jaguars. There's also those who claim around the same time it began at St. Augustine High School, an all boys Catholic high school in New Orleans for African-Americans. It then quickly spread to New Orleans Public Schools. Then in the late 70's fans at Louisiana State University picked up on it. In 1983, New Orleans Saints fans adopted it during the tenure of coach Bum Phillips. In 1981, the Cincinnati Bengals fans and players started with the now famous "Who Dey" cheer. It was also adopted by wrestling fans of the Junkyard Dog, who wrestled locally in the Mid South Wrestling area in the early to mid 1980s.

While the debate goes on as to who gets to claim to be the originators of the now famous "Who Dat" cheer, the one thing all agree on is it began in southeast Louisiana in the New Orleans-Baton Rouge area.

who dat came first :)

LOL - I thought it may start something :)

The explanation I like best I couldn't find online... There was a local brew company Hudepol Brewing Company (now owned by Christian Moerlein) whose beer was served at the games.. Hudy Delight, Hudy Gold were popular Hudy brands. The vendors would walk around as they do today, but while Hudy was being served, would say 'ice cold Hudey'.. and of course from there Who Dey was born.. in Cincinnati. :)

I thought it might have been one of the first 7 teams who gave us our first loss. Looks like I was right.;)

Baltimore deserved it. Where the hell was our offense? I only saw the first quarter where both teams offense was worthless, and it was a puntfest. Turns out Ravens kicked our arse. Good for them. Broncos kinda needed a reality check. A couple of our wins were lucky as hell. You must admit that.

soccer is for pansies

haha, Agreed!!

I prefer sports that you can’t blame the other guy for the loss! I.E “Cletus missed a tackle, so we lost the game”, “Billy-bob sucks today, he let too many goals in”

I like sports like MMA, motorcross, F1… ect. (Nascar not included)

Sure it requires a “team” to get you there, but if you loose, 9 times out of 10, there is no one to blame but yourself!

Should've been a red card, mate.

Red cards are for people getting ejected from the game for flagrant personal fouls.

Saints 8-0!!!!!!!!!!!! Hell yeah!!!!!

So when a player questions the lineage of anothers mother, then it's a red card?

Nah, it has to be way more flagrant than that. Like this:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zAjWi663kXc&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zAjWi663kXc&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Which is probably the most famous (infamous) red card in soccer history. But it gets my point across.

attaboy!

Who Dey!

I'm giving props to dem Saints. I'd love it when new blood makes it to the big game.

Broncs - I'm still reeling from week 1, but if they smash the Steelers - I'll feel better abt it. :)

(though let Rashard score a few TDs.. He's my only hope in my fantasy team)

Colts won too? Sweet. I wasn't able to catch the news on that game, what with all the preparation for the imminent storm. Luckily it's missing me, but I know we have some Bama and Florida folks who are getting the worst of it.
