No year requirement. You just need the 7/8" linkage mirror. You'll receive the 7/8" linkage blendmount and cat5 cable extension free, but in return you need to provide feedback to MGTMotorsports on the installation process and provided instructions.

To test if you have the 7/8 diameter shaft, cut a piece of paper 2 and 3/4 inches long should be almost perfect to put around it.

I had checked my 2004 Xterra and I believe it to be a 3/4" and not the new 7/8" shaft. I would think your looking for a 2006+ Xterra that has the larger 7/8" shaft.
