So How Many Volts Does The Average Battery Actually Put Out?
Bc In Every Installation Manual I Read I See "12v Power Source"
My Buddy Says His Put Out Like 11.4v. My Optima(according To Scan Gauge) Puts Out 13.9-14.0v

Usually between 10-12v with the truck turned off, but about 14-14.8v with the truck running.

The ScanGauge is showing you what the Alternator is putting out, not the battery.

If a battery gets below 10v it usually won't start a vehicle. Fully charged it should put out right around 12v.

since that answers my question, ill stray off topic and mention that, at 65 mph if i take my foot off the gas, once the rpms drop i get around 70mpg, while if i punch it i get as low as 2mpg, i had fun playing with it yesterday, seeing how high and how low i could get it, the highest was 75mpg, toyota prius go cry in a corner!:auslachen2-big:

Yeah, it's amazing how good of gas mileage you get if you are coasting. :) For best results, turn off the engine. :)

Hey would the scangauge be able to read battery voltage as opposed to Alternator output?

And if so, would it be able to read 2 different settings?

BTW, there are 6 cells in a battery, which produce about 2.1V therefore actual is closer to 12.6 considering the above is true
