Hi guys,

I'm still somewhat new on this site, but I don't believe I saw a question regarding the handling of my vehicle, so I'm hoping you guys can help.

I have an '06 X-Terra and I noticed that the handling on this is somewhat poor. Granted, I live in New York, and the bad roads certainly don't help, but it seems like my car shakes fairly violent whenever I go over cracks in the road, or over bumps. It's to the point that when I'm driving on the highway, i have to hold my steering wheel with 2 hands when I go over bumpy areas.

I'm not sure if this has to do with the shocks or anythign, but i'm hoping someone can help.

my 00 was doing that and i took it to sears where i bought the tires, and they told me that my tires were not balanced right, they told me hiting potholes, ect... that it will throw your balance off and that would cause your steering wheel to shake bad. so check that out, other than that i havent heard of any problems with steering, but anthony and TJTJ will chime in and have some other ideas.

Thanks for the help, guys. I'm pretty sure the tire pressure is fine, so I'll check out the balance of the tires.

I would check the pressure again. It really sounds like it's too high.
