: Hello from West Michigan
Millertyme 10-19-2009, 07:23 PM Got my 08 offroad last year and love it. My GF liked it so much she got an X 2 weeks later. I picked it because I've always liked the rugged look and offroad ability. We get about 100" of snow per season and it came in handy. Only complaint is how easy the armrest marks up. Other than that, its been perfect. Can't wait to get into some of the forums to get some ideas on some easy/cost effective mods.

munkman 10-20-2009, 11:12 AM Welcome to CX! Where abouts in West Michigan?
Millertyme 10-20-2009, 05:09 PM Munkman - Grand Rapids. mephyt - any trails around here besides the dunes?
mephyt 10-20-2009, 05:11 PM mephyt - any trails around here besides the dunes?
That's what I've been trying to figure out to be honest. The dunes are the most well known, but I have a hard time believing that they are the only thing around.
Millertyme 10-20-2009, 05:36 PM mephyt - I went to school at Ferris and there were powerline trails up there, but by the time I graduated most were blocked off.

Douche ;)
welcome
this isnt a genuine welcome im just trying to up my post counts
My family has a cabin near Traverse City and we tromp around the seasonal trails for some mud and sand. Definately gives the X a makeover!

I've heard that there are some around here that are still accessible but I've not actually gone in search of them yet. I JUST got new meats under the truck a week or two back.
ChadX-OR 10-21-2009, 12:54 PM 100" in Grand Rapids... Hmmm... I'm from Petoskey and I never thought you guys saw that much snow down there. Given the lake effect in Ptown, we often do, but in Grand Rapids?
Anyway, I'm a n00b to the forum my self, but welcome.
grantypanties218 10-21-2009, 12:56 PM im in rock ford illinois bout an hour and a half west of chicago
mephyt 10-23-2009, 06:04 AM Have you checked any of the power line trails around this area at all? To be honest, I don't even know where to start on that.
Millertyme 10-26-2009, 04:17 PM I have yet to check around GR. I guess the search continues. DNR must have maps, ya think?
Millertyme 10-26-2009, 04:46 PM ChadX,
Had to check it out myself, this is what I found. Not an avg of 100" but not far from.
Grand Rapids Season Snowfall Totals since 2000-2001 season.
2000-01: 98.1 inches
2001-02: 105.2 inches
2002-03: 88.0 inches
2003-04: 74.0 inches
2004-05: 80.7 inches
2005-06: 69.2 inches
2006-07: 83.3 inches
2007-08: 107.0 inches
mephyt 10-26-2009, 05:12 PM I would guess that there should be maps of some sort around someplace. DNR would likely be a good place to check.
