I though of another question I have. Last summer my SES light came on (imagine that!), so still under warranty I took it to the dealer. They came back with 2 codes, one for the O2 sensor and the other was something about evap leak. They told me there was a small hole on the top of my gas tank. I replaced the O2 sensor, but told them no on the gas tank. The warranty company told me they would not cover due to rust being present. I have been trying to figure out the best way to fix this. I thought maybe using that sealer that is waterproof?? I don't want to spend $350 on the dealer to replace the tank unless I have to! Anyone else had this lovely problem??

its a 2003, it should have a hole rusted into the gas tank, they should cover it, i would raise hell, i had some rust on my roof and top of my doors, went to the stealership and said "wtf is this? this truck is a year old, i should see rust anywhere, dont even tell me its not covered"

The dealer I got it from was not a Nissan dealer...but that is where I took it to have them look at it. The extended warranty I bought is was pretty much useless, since I have never had any issues with her other than the O2 and gas tank thing. I know now that I have a GREAT truck and reliable. So what do you think I could do other than get a new tank??

The guy at the Nissan dealership said he had a Frontier that had the same problem. I just thought that was a off, why would there be a hole on "top" of the tank?? The light was going off on it's own and then would come back on later. Now it has been on steady for a couple of months now. I have not noticed any loss in MPG or anything. Just wierd I guess...

i totally meant to type "shouldn't" have a hole rusted in it, holy hell what a typo!! i cant believe i put that!

:pfeilimkopf-big:

so i replace my previous post with: its a 2003, it "shouldnt" have a hole rusted in the gas tank, they should cover it, i personally would raise hell.

i would be careful about sealing it, the gasoline would probably eat thru common stuff

That's cool, I was hoping you meant "shouldn't". Even though I bought it almost 2 yrs ago?? I would think they would tell me I am SOL??
