Ok for all you guys out there that wheel I am going to be starting as soon as the UPS/USPS/FEDX Santa arrives however I am just wondering if there are any precaustions (IE Better air intake, silicon spray, engine cover) that you do to protect water from splashing up into the engine or from being sucked in by the intake??:wink-big:

You don't have to worry too much about the intake.

I would how ever clean the alternator really good and hit it with a can of silicon spray. It's at the bottom of the engine in the X's and can and will die.

Yeah - spray the alternator inside and out, plus, follow all the elec w/ the spray too...plugs, distributer, etc.

Also - before hitting the dirt...

Remove the step rails, mud flaps and rear sway bar.

Make sure the air box with the filter in it is tightly closed.

:D

You can ford water below the headlights all day long...at/above the headlights...it gets dicey.
