Ok, I locked my other thread since it would be more focused on this problem after getting a 2nd party to listen while I was in the car....

Here's the thing....I shift in 4x4 while completely stopped....then I start to roll and I hear this 2 loud clicks (kinda like trying to rip plastics but no grinding noise) then it goes away after that?

Same goes when I shift from Drive to Reverse, it goes 2 loud clicks then that's it.

Nothing after that cuz I drove a pretty long straight line....only happens when you shift gears....

Is this normal? Or could it be the autohubs going out?

Remember, I jacked up the X and had it off the ground and put it in 4x4, all 4 wheels spun freely with no problems.

Didn't really feel any play with my CV joints.....

I wouldn't be too concerned to be honest. Like I said in my pm, I've never been in a 4WD that didn't make some sort of pop after initially shifting into 4WD. I will carry my spare CV's just in case but I think you are good to go.

Mine does it too ........ and when going from foreward to reverse and to foreward again it does it too.

Guessing you have auto hubs like i do.... im pretty sure thats how they engage and every thing is fine.

Thanks!

I hadn't shifted in 4x4 in pavement so I'm used to shifting on a rocky road so I guess that's why I didn't feel the clicks til now.
