: Rausch Creek Saturday Dec. 12th
bluex 10-14-2009, 06:13 AM We are planning a trail run up at Rausch Creek on Saturday December 12th.
We will be staying at the Comfort Inn at exit 100 on I-81
plan on being at the parking lot @ the park by 9am and ready to roll out by 930AM...make sure to air down your tires and pay for your day of wheeling.
if we have a bunch of people we can break up into two different groups...so 1 group can do greens & blues and the 2nd group can do blue/blacks & Blacks.
here is the Rausch Creek site to get more info.http://www.rc4x4.org/index.php
Here is the site for the Comfort Inn (call them and tell them you will be at Rausch Creek and they will give you the discount. Should be about $60 or $65/night)
Comfort Inn (http://www.comfortinn.com/hotel-pine_grove-pennsylvania-PA130?sid=ykp_g.2lhVBZ4Xe.1&sname=Pine+Grove&sstate=PA&scountry=US&sunits=M&sradius=40.22&slat=40.54851&slon=-76.38475&schain=CI&exp=)
please post up here if you r going to attend or if you have any questions...
hope to see you guys there...we had a blast last year...good times were had!!!
bluex 10-14-2009, 06:20 AM My wife & I will be up there Friday afternoon and coming home Sunday morning.
If you want we can all go out to eat either Fri or Sat....or both. I know of some great restaurants near by. We could also hang out at the hotel and do some drinking there and have a good time!! :D
munkman 10-14-2009, 09:02 AM I'll be there. I'm not sure if I'm going to camp there Friday night or crash at a friend's place 1hr away. Is there an extra charge for camping there? It would be tempting if there were a ton of people camping though.
bluex 10-14-2009, 09:48 AM I'll be there. I'm not sure if I'm going to camp there Friday night or crash at a friend's place 1hr away. Is there an extra charge for camping there? It would be tempting if there were a ton of people camping though.
no charge for camping. read the info on their site. :D that is why I put it up there. LOL
if any of you guys want to camp need to let me know so I can let the park know that.
munkman 10-14-2009, 09:51 AM I can't read.... :-)
Gnarly McSnarley 10-14-2009, 10:21 AM Thinking about coming out for this. I haven't done any offroading since my ealy 20s ('78 Toyota PJ40, loved that truck, lifted, big tires, badass). Anyway, I'm..ummm...a little older now. My X is my daily driver. Not much done to it other than the PML - has decent A/T tires. How difficult are the green and blue trails at Rausch? Don't want to sound like a pussy but I also don't want to f@#k up my truck.
I might come out regardless. Been lurking for a while here and have gotten a ton of great information from you guys. Would be cool to share a beer or few and put a name with a face.
Thanks,
John
munkman 10-14-2009, 10:28 AM December of last year was my first trip to Rausch and all I had was a PML and bald tires. The green trails were very easy and still a lot of fun. Someone would walk us newbs through tough spots just to make sure we wouldn't ding anything. My X didn't get a scratch and still had a blast.
Hope to see you there!
it sounds like you should be set for greens gnarley
rausch has plenty of shortcuts and bypasses for harder obstacles if you dont want to attempt them....that said, there is always the chance that you take a wrong line or don't see a rock or something and do some damage...going with a larger group of people with the same truck as you is a great idea because if you break something, chances are someone has a spare
blues are another story, you definetly want a good set of skids if your thinking of blues...they can be done without, buts its definetly a nice peace of mind knowing you have them
i'll be at rausch november 14th, so i doubt i'll be available for this run
silverbullet 10-14-2009, 11:06 AM I have a wedding 2 weeks before on a saturday so it looks like I wont be down. Chances are slim but we'll see.
TN4x4Xterra 10-14-2009, 11:53 AM I have a wedding 2 weeks before on a saturday so it looks like I wont be down. Chances are slim but we'll see.
You're getting married?
silverbullet 10-14-2009, 01:14 PM Nope. My cousin is.
TN4x4Xterra 10-14-2009, 01:32 PM Ooooh....so that must mean you're next in line....lol :mocking:
bluex 10-14-2009, 03:44 PM well damn I was hoping both Ian & Brian would be there :( damn that sucks the big one!!
hope you guys can make it out and come wheeling w/ all of us.
Xterra Mike 10-14-2009, 05:08 PM we'll see how my X is doin. If its back to normal (whatever that is) i'll there and i'll run blue black with you guys.
silverbullet 10-14-2009, 06:50 PM I'll try but don' count on it.
and no Stevin as for next marriage on my side of the family (as opposed to hers) it wont be me for a few more years. Neither of us wanna be engaged and in college and she has 2.5 years left. I'm done in december. Fine with me though. i'lll save up and buy myself toys instead of a ring for her. lol
Xterra Mike 10-15-2009, 03:31 AM I'll try but don' count on it.

sendjonathanmail 11-08-2009, 06:08 PM I'm definetly interested in going. It will be me in my X and a friend in his Jeep ZJ. We'll run greens/blues. Its a 2.5 hour drive so we'll be leaving here bright and early.
RagnarokianAD 11-10-2009, 12:47 PM Hey guys, I was thinking about coming to this if I get my tires, get them mounted, and get my 3" suspension lift on by then. I've been using your forums a lot in the past few weeks for info and tricks to make my own build. I haven't gotten a chance to post myself yet but I'd love to see everyone's trucks on here! Let me know if it'd be ok to have an extra noob show up! Well I'm not new to wheelin' just modding and driving an X. (Last time I was at Rausch Creek I regretfully brought my full size silverado and ended up blowing a tire and bending the rim ): ) This would be the first time the X has seen dirt too!
My setup so far... '01 Xterra SE, Shrockworks front bumper and rock sliders (from Fuse, good guy), 2" body lift. I also have a set of 16x8 pro-comp wheels that are waiting for the 32" pro-comp mud terrain's to be delivered and mounted. Once those are ready to be put on I have a 3" suspension lift waiting for the tires. Not sure how long that takes to install but I'm hoping to have that all done in the next couple of weeks.
Anyway, hope to meet you guys soon!
~Mike

Xterra Mike 11-10-2009, 07:10 PM wow this run is gonna be a big one.
silverbullet 11-10-2009, 07:15 PM I'm gonna ask for the day off. chances are it wont happen though. gotta beat 12 xterras of last year
Xterra Mike 11-10-2009, 07:22 PM its lookin like it will.
bluex 11-10-2009, 07:34 PM hell yea!!!
Ian you need to get your ass down there!!! :)
also need to figure out who is going to run what kind of trails....
who is doing Greens & Blues?
who is doing the more challenging stuff?
I am going to GPAX run on Dec 5th but I'm going to try and make it out for this as well. Gotta test those new sliders ;)
I would be doing the green/blue stuff as my X is my DD and i cant F&*k it up.
sendjonathanmail 11-10-2009, 08:52 PM Put me down for greens/low blues because i dont have any skids aside from the factory ones. Also its my DD and I need to get to school.
Xterra Mike 11-11-2009, 12:08 AM You know i'll be doin blue black.
bluex 11-11-2009, 05:22 AM I'll do anything from Blues to Blacks :D

Back on topic:
I've got a plan worked out so I can take the day off. Just gotta ask for it now and hope they say yes. I don't see why they wouldn't.

I feel like I might be on thely 2nd gen going on this so far.... :(
BigDog107 11-11-2009, 10:23 AM Do you think I can make it with my truck? I got AT tires. They got good tread but they aren't MTs. I am in the middle of designing/building rock sliders.
I may be interested in going if I can get my buds to go. Not sure though if I want to drive 6 hours...hmmmm

When i went to this run last year all i had was ATs and everything went fine. You can run the greens with stock tires.

silverbullet 11-11-2009, 03:32 PM We should start a new thread about 2 weeks before to figure out groups, when we get a head count
bluex 11-11-2009, 03:38 PM We should start a new thread about 2 weeks before to figure out groups, when we get a head count

Xterra Mike 11-11-2009, 03:55 PM i'll take care of that for you guys. no problem.
bluex 11-11-2009, 03:55 PM Yeah that would work.......

Ryan...my wife & I will be there. Going to bring some Jack & Captn Morgan
Stickle 11-11-2009, 04:27 PM REP points for that!!
bluex 11-11-2009, 05:41 PM i'll take care of that for you guys. no problem.
good answer...since your the big bad moderator now :D HAHAHHA:anbeten-big:
Xterra Mike 11-11-2009, 05:48 PM i'll just start one now. That way we can get a good idea of what groups we will have.
silverbullet 11-11-2009, 07:17 PM I'll post in it when i'm a definite. I'm up for trail leading a smaller group of blues if i can make it.
Xterra Mike 11-11-2009, 07:57 PM if your doin blue with black options i'm in. Green/Blue might be alittle too boring for me.
higher4hockey 11-11-2009, 08:10 PM im seriously debating on making an appearance... come on guys, talk me into it!!
silverbullet 11-11-2009, 08:18 PM Where are you from in pa?
higher4hockey 11-11-2009, 08:22 PM McKean County... Port Allegany ...its near Bradford. Northcentral part of the state.
silverbullet 11-11-2009, 08:28 PM http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&source=hp&q=port+allegany+pa&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=Port+Allegany,+PA&gl=us&ei=jYD7SvGiNZGGnAf1kvSKBQ&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CAsQ8gEwAA
About 4 hours. but its worth it.
higher4hockey 11-11-2009, 08:30 PM lol...Yeah I looked it up on the map...not too far of a drive. I'm not much of an offroader though. I cruise the back roads around here quite a bit, but I don't usually get into anything too hairy. My X is stock and my daily driver...not too keen on breaking something. What are the trails like down there ?
silverbullet 11-11-2009, 08:50 PM You'll do fine on the green trails and the light blues. do you have mud flaps and step rails?
higher4hockey 11-11-2009, 08:54 PM front flaps and yes i have the rails.
silverbullet 11-11-2009, 08:58 PM I'd suggest removing them then. The flaps get ripped off easy on rocks and the rails can get bent up easily. its only a few bolts per side and you won't risk damaging them if they're not on. check out the roll call thread for the run for better information
higher4hockey 11-11-2009, 09:00 PM ten four. thanks for the heads up!
punkrockdrummerx 11-11-2009, 09:09 PM It looks as if I already have this day off and pending funds I should be in for this run
Now, wether I bring the jeep or Xterra is still up in the air...both of them are still sorta down right now, so I'm not sure. But if I bring the jeep, I'd be up for blacks all day long and if the Xterra, I'd be up for blues and blue/blacks just since I haven't wheeled it in a long time
silverbullet 11-11-2009, 09:11 PM What needs to be done on the X? I'll try to help out. Mod day on the 22nd?
punkrockdrummerx 11-12-2009, 05:23 AM money needs to be done to the X, wanna donate?

i'll get in on that. i'll just park my X in the lot.
Stickle 11-12-2009, 07:51 PM i'll get in on that. i'll just park my X in the lot.
WHAT IS THIS!?!? The possible XOTM will be sittin in the parking lot!?!?! i WILL NOT ALLOW IT!
punkrockdrummerx 11-12-2009, 08:45 PM well, the X needs a master cylinder, and the jeep possibly needs a transfer case or possibly something in the front diff...not sure. Just got home from working on it, and its not the driveshaft like I thought. So who knows if I'll even make it with either
Xterra Mike 11-13-2009, 04:24 AM WHAT IS THIS!?!? The possible XOTM will be sittin in the parking lot!?!?! i WILL NOT ALLOW IT!

When i come up on the 22nd, lets hit a scrap yard for the master cylinder and swap it out.
punkrockdrummerx 11-13-2009, 05:34 AM Mike...I thought about that, but I'd much rather get a new reman one. The only reason I haven't gotten one yet is because my work dosen't stock one so I can't get a smoking price on it lol
silverbullet 11-13-2009, 06:52 PM Kyle i know a salvage yard that has @ xterras still there that havent been picked clean
