I have a handsfree unit which clips on my visor. I have the power cord wrapped around my mirror then down to the aux power. I want to run power directly to it from above. My mirror has a compass, so I'm thinking I can pull power from that. Anyone taken their headliner down yet? How about removing the map lights? I was looking at them but didn't wanna rip them out of the headliner and eff anything up. I have none of the storage bins overhead. I only have two sets of lights - nothing else up there.

I have an 02 with map lights, it just pulls down grab it from the front near the windshield and pull....I don't know what year model you have but there are no screws in it just give it a yank! You should be able to get the power from the lights.
Just be careful about drilling or you will end up seeing the sky...
