ok I have been browsing and searching both the susp. forum and the general forum trying to decide a.) what type of lift and b.) everything that I need for that lift. Part of the problem I am having is I just came from the Z crowd and know NOTHING about lifting a vehicle etc nor the companies that do it so when i sit here and read half the posts and half of them remind me of the acronyms at work i am getting completely confused. Say I have around 1000 dollars give or take a little, a 2001 Black 4x4 X and I am looking to do some off roading (NOT rock crawling or anything crazy like that just mud, sand, hills, creeks etc) what should I get. I want around a 3" lift but again I need some feedback if that is wrong I am up for change. That 1000 is also just for suspension and does not include the money I have for the rims or tires but I just need info on the susp. right now. What I need and where I could buy it at or what would you guys to do meet this off roading goal and had a grand to spend on susp. parts?????? :icon_question:

I have an 05 it's different than yours, however Calmini makes a 3" lift for yours as well. That is the lift I have on mine. I know have around 10,000 miles on it with no problems. I hope this helps.

Honestly...

2" Body Lift
and a PML (Poor Man Lift) (crank the torsion bars in the front and shackles in the rear)

Spend the rest of the money of a good set of tires.
