depends... will they be your daily drivers?

If you don't have a body lift, the largest you can go is 32" and you'll still need some trimming. If you have the BL, you can go up to 33x12.5.

BFG MT's are a great tire, the Kumho Roadventure MT is very similar but much less expensive. Goodyear wrangler MT/R's are very popular also.

i talked to a guy from 4wheelparts.com over the phone today and i think i found the tires for me they are the procomp xtreame at i am going to put them on my factory rims heres the catch they havent released them in my sizeyet, but they are taking pre orders and when he told me the price i was amazed they are 127 a tire he said he didnt know if it was a typo but he said that they had to honor it. i havent bought them yet im gonna wait to see when the release date is. he told me to call back at the end of the month and he should know more. the tires already released are expensive (http://www.4wheelparts.com/PPT3360T100004.aspx) so i think im gonna jump on them also the are guaranteed 50,000 miles from procomp........

be careful about waiting, they dont have to honor that price if they change it before you call back!

i know but right now i dont have the money to pre order and if they change the price then i will go with the procomp at they are just a few dollars more but they are not the xtreme.

The tread is oddly similar to my street tires.

If you have a BL, you can fit 35's no problem, without any trimming. Keller, at one point, had 35x12.50's, but took them off because the ones he had suck OR.

Really?? I've only seen one truck with 35's and he trimmed his fenders with a sawzall...

Do these tires fit the Xterra without any lift? I have an '03 and it's about time I change out my tires and I don't want to do any lift because I live in L.A and every freaking parking garage is made for go-karts.

You can fit 31's with no lift and no trimming

32's you can fit with trimming or a body lift.

33's you need a 2" body lift.

Procomp Xtremes wear down really quick so be careful. My next tires (on my Jeep) are going to be Maxxis Bighorns in the 33 flavor. That way I can slap my 32 BFG A/Ts on my wifes stock X. We just did the trimming last night.

Hey all. I just got the Maxxis tires from the FedEx man yesterday and they are MEAN. I used to run MT/Rs awhile ago but these are better IMO and they are siped so they will be better on the road as well as off.

Now that I have them on I noticed that they really do not have as much road noise as most MTs.

Anywho I think tomorrow we are going to get the ATs mounted on the X. I just put one up against the current tires and these are going to be tight. We did however take off all the mud flap guard things and also trimmed the whole bottom inner flap part thats left...so I hope it works. I really do not want to have to take them off and trim more tomorrow.

To fit 32's, most of the front well plastic comes out...at least to articulate them. For street work, removal of the ledge that the mud flaps mount to, can be enough sometimes.

After the tire's are on, as the fronts are the ONLY real issue, cut the wheel back and forth, and just remove whatever hits, plus what you'd see above that on compression, etc.

The plastic is soft...it snips right off.

:D

Barring any unforseen issues that come up with her work tonight...the 32's are going on tonight.

Thanks for your help.

So do you have any pics of the final result? I am hoping to do something similar to what you have all discussed in this thread.
