I have a 2001 4x4 X and I know I want a new set of rims and tires. I have been looking at the cragar soft 8's and I am wondering a.) would it be better to go with the 15x8 or the 15x10 and b.) do I need wheel spacers for these rims and what kind if i do? Thank you for the info!

Hello, You may want to look at the 15 x 8's, because it will will give you a slightly taller stance than the 15x 10's. (15'x10's) will give you a wider stance. 15x8's is good for up to 12 inch wide tires...just an opinion here!.......Aloha

Go with the 15x8, but try to get 5" backspacing if possible, that's the only way they'll fit without rubbing.

I don't know what you mean about a taller stance. That doesn't make sense, because 15x8 or 15x10... it's still 15" tall. The only difference is the width.
You can go wider than 12" tire on a 15x8, up to 13.5" is perfectly fine.

ok so just to make sure I will not need spacers for these rims as long as they are a 5 inch backspacing?

correct.
Spacers take AWAY backspacing, and since most aftermarket rims already have too little backspacing to start with, spacers make it worse.
For example. If you buy the rims with 4" backspacing and put on a 1" spacer, you will end up with 3" backspacing, and the rims will be sticking out of the fenders.

ok I am a little paranoid about this but I just want to be sure I get the right wheels so if I were to get these specs
Wheel, Soft 8, Steel, Black, 16 in. x 8 in., 6 x 5.5 in. Bolt Circle, 5 in. Backspace, Each
then I should be ok right? 6 x 5.5 is the bolt pattern for the 2001's arent they?
